The details

The twelve luxurious thatched Suites offer exclusive privacy by including verdant trees and reed walls in their design. These spacious suites boast an en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower and luxury amenities, air-conditioning, private minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a private deck with plunge pool, and a private 'Sala' (outdoor daybed) overlooking the river and bushveld.

The facilities offered at the main lodge include indoor and outdoor dining areas, a gift boutique, a relaxation retreat with sauna and exercise room, a library with television and DVD player, a swimming pool, and complimentary Wi-Fi in the main areas of the lodge.

Had an amazing experience at Jock Safari Lodge. The staff were wonderful, especially our ranger whose father had been a ranger before him, and the comfort and luxury of the rooms and the food were incomparable. The wildlife were incredible - I especially enjoyed watching a family of elephants eat their afternoon snack right from my room's private viewing deck. Not sure what to say about "value for money," since I lucked out and was able to stay here at a discounted price (couldn't have afforded it otherwise). What I can say is that it was an unforgettable experience and I'm so grateful to have had it. One thing to be aware of - internet access there is very poor, so just go in expecting that and enjoy being offline!
