The unit is situated with the most amazing view. The unit itself is a quite tired, but it looks as if Lower Sabie is re-doing its tented camp. I would highly recommend getting a unit on the fence line as you can see so many animal from it - Elephant playing in the water, leopard lazing in the sun, buffalo and those are the highlights.

it was a pleasure to visit the park! Under Sabie camp was very good as was all the camps we visited as day visitors. the accommodation was very good and the staff is fantastic! the only problem if had is that we did not have hot water in the evenings, or for that matter after 11 in the mornings!

Had a fabulous time. It was good to see the continued significant improvements being made on a continuous basis in the chalets. We went on a sundown game drive with San Parks, and saw 2 lions, 2 leopards, 2 genets, 1 civet, a rhino and others. The Mugg & Bean restaurant coped admirably well with the volume of people requiring food. Well done!

We paid & booked FU5 family bungalow. We were given Bungalo 1 with no explanation. It was dirty, full of wasps and the grass had not been cut, No1 is not even marked on the map. The spare room had 2 beds that you could not open the cupboard or close the door. When I complained they gave me the Eish. Heard from one staff member there where rats in FU5. After tracking down the duty manager and inspecting FU5 the vermon where quirrels. So after fixing the aircons we moved in. We will never go back to Lower Sabie again. If you want pictures of the outside of 1&2 I will send them.

What a lovely camp. We had a beautiful tent with a great river view and then a weaver bird spent 2 days building a nest just in font of us. Just an idyllic place.

The staff were efficient and helpful on arrival, which made a great first impression. We appreciated having the Mugg & Bean available for meals, and were impressed with the quality of service received. The only downside to the trip was the lack of cleanliness in the Lower Sabie toilets and showers - not terrible, but could be better. Good trip overall though.

Was looking for a place to put my caravan closer to the bush or river with no power point and closer to a bush experience , little bit away from the sound of traffic, like where those bush tents are. but we enjoyed it, and the friendly people just made our stay so worthwhile.

Our stay at Lower Sabie was most enjoyable. We can't fault this restcamp in any way. Our bungalow was comfortable (N89) and everything worked. On the whole a 5 for Lower Sabie. A small criticism - We found the River Front and deck area dominated by the restaurant ( M&B). We feel that this arrangement restricts access to the most favourable spot at the camp.

Good day We had a very good time in the park. We enjoyed the drives daily. The quietness in the park and the fact that you can really unwind when you are in the park is magic. We had a good rest and its always sad when it is time to go home. We have been visitors for many years in the Park and every time it is an amazing experience. We have been to Letaba, Satara, Pretoriuskop, Berg and Dal and the camps are kept clean and are well looked after. However which was disappointing is the fact that the one bathroom (small one), was quite neglected in Lower Sabie. We however did see that renovations was happening. Another concern was the overall look of the camp in Lower Sabie. The grass was tall and the garden was not well looked after. What we also missed, in the past we could go and sit on the Deck which overlooked the Sabie River, but with “Mug and Bean” now the new franchise, you can no longer just visit without needing to order something. I really miss that. Have a wonderful day and see you soon

Overall our accommodation was very good and comfortable. The SANParks staff were most efficient. A little problem was that our veranda was a favourite spot for bats. Insecticide has been hung under the eaves to deter them. The camp manager, Mr Ramutsi was most understanding and concerned when I reported this, and assured me that he was pressing on to rid all the chalets of bats. Their efforts had been 90% successful and we were just unfortunate to have some on our veranda. However, we sat further out and avoided their droppings.

First time we have stayed in tents at Lower Sabie, we stayed in one that hadn't been renovated. Not too bad for a unit that is quite old. What I would like to see most is a more comfortable chair on the deck.

We stayed In Lower Sabie at the start of the trip in the Kruger National Park, and was a great experience. The chalets are very comfortable, the staff are incredible and helpful. We were really impressed since we left behind our Ipad by mistake and just realised about it at the end of that day when we arrived, we called reception to explained the situation and after half an hour they located the item for us. We arranged to pick it up on our way out from the park, and when we did that the Ipad was waiting for us in a perfect condition. Thank you so much!

We only stayed one night in this camp but I can really recommend staying longer. The house was really nice and clean, good braai area and nice hot shower. Also the park facilities were good, restaurant / shop. Plus we saw lots of animals (also big 5) in the area.

The bungalow was extremely spacious and comfortable. Everything was in good order.The kitchen was a contrast with the Satara camp that offered only outside kitchen. This one was indoors and fully equipped, with table and chairs. The treat was the huge terrace overlooking the river, that animals used to visit early morning and at night. The camp restaurant (Mug & Beans) offered delicious food and a spectacular view over the river. Lower Sabie is definitely a place to return to!

I had a good trip and stayed at the various Camping Sites. The roads both Tar and Dirt are in very poor condition from all my previous vists as thus able to make this comment, if in normal cars be aware of this especially on the Dirt Roads, I eventually stayed off them and missed a lt of viewing. The camps are getting run down, but the people are good and very helpful. I was disappointed that the camp Sites are not controlled and others take up more space that they are allocated or just used up two Sites and people were forced to miss out, others were obviously taking up two Power Points for Electricity and I had to miss out depite alsing them to unplug one Lead, rude and uncaring but them Kruger should police this aspect. There is a lot of noice in the Camps despite being asked to tone it down, Radios - Generator and boozing into the nights. Another Camping Only site had a couple with visitors and the loud attitude was not appreciated, we are there to the wild life and experice the wild night life, not some afrikaans couple shouting screaming their heads off and not caring when several others asked them quiet down.Over all a good trip despite the poor road attitude in blocking bother sides of the road when they see something of interest and others either cannot get a look in or pass them, another real difficulty.wsould I go again YES YES YES, but be aware and make some plans.

Horrible in terms of the accommodation we used - we were in the rooms and there were building going on right in front of our room - noise the whole day long of electrical tools, loud talking etc. The mug and bean is excellent to have in the park. I doubt that I will ever choose to stay at Lower Sabie again

Wonderful restcamp, enjoyed the tents very much. Guests should be reminded to bring along padlocks to lock the fridge & grocery cages as they are located outside the tent. The restaurant is much cleaner than we experienced previously.

We had been recommended by so many people to stay at Lower Sabie instead of the other camps, and we were horribly dissapointed. The rooms were very small, only had a blanket on the bed. The staff were very unfriendly and the restaurants food was shocking.

Lots of other cars make this an easy spotting area. Look for the cars and the animals are there. Birds, animals, trees and insects abound, roads are short and easy to select, makes for a variety of viewing.

The Family Bungalow (FU5) was in a very poor state of repair and run down. The airconditioner was extremely noisy and barely functioned and had to be turned off during the night because of the noise. This facility is in urgent need of repair and refurbishment. We will not be staying over there in future. The rooms however were clean. Very disappointing!!

We were fortunate in that the Bungalows (Nos 103 and 104) were newly renovated and revamped. It was clean and fresh and we were happy to stay over. Unfortunately we cannot say the same for the Family Bungalow (No 61) we stayed over on 7 March (3 days later) which was well below acceptable and embarrassing. I don't know what our foreign visitors must think!

To allow people into a camp where no restaurant was available was an absolute disgarace especially as there was no pre-warning. Accomodation was good but the park has let itself down badly and foreign visitors must be disgusted by the situation they were put in and will no doubt be telling all their family and friends back home how shameful it was. Not great publicity for your park.

My husband and I recently over-nighted at Lower Sabie, staying in a two bedroom (en-suite) luxury cottage overlooking the river. We were joined by two Spanish friends, first timers to Africa.The cottage was fabulous: we particularly enjoyed sitting under the stars at our own boma whilst taking in the sounds and smells of the bush and the braai. Lower Sabie has a beautiful feel to the camp - and we were treated to views of hippo, crocs and elephants in the river, and to African Fish Eagles, Pied Wagtails, Green Pigeons, Chinspot Batis(es) and other beautiful bushveld birds, from the comfort of the cottage.Our guests were entranced.We never get tired of KNP and Lower Sabie lived up to the standard we expect.Thank you.

Leider kann ich für das Haus Nr. 61 keine gute Note ausstellen. Eine Ratte wohnte in der Küche während der 2 Nächten, die wir dort waren und vermutlich war das schon lange so. Das Haus sollte renoviert werden. Auch auf die Frage nach einem Wechsel wurde nicht eingegangen. Die Häuser mit "River View" sahen hübsch und gepflegt aus.

Excellent location and facilities. Refurbishment of rondavels/ cabins on-going which is good. Pity the Hall is closed indefinitely. Staff in restaurant could be more amenable and too many items "off" on menu, but outdoor eating area lovely. Nothing happening on alterations to Selati restaurant so cannot understand why it is closed.

Towels in bungalow are stained with blood and even have holes in..really! that is unacceptable. Further, the air-con was making such a noise we couldn't sleep for 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed there. Kept on logging complaints and only after the 4th complaint the night before we went home the manager attended to it. We visit the Kruger 3 times a year. This was unacceptable. I actually want my money back!!

As always the Kruger experience is memorable for the game, the excitement of not knowing what is round the next corner and the peacefulness of the camps. Extensive cabin refurbishment is going on which is good. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for same - a magnificent building well located. On a general note for the whole park, more could be done to train staff in the ways of dealing with international guests in a more friendly and welcoming way. Some appear disinterested as if it's only a job. It may be their way, but awareness of how service is carried out in other world attractions would help greatly. Also concerned that the new caterers wimpey and mug and bean retain the character of the food in speciality dishes and not lower standards to burgers and chips.

The tent camp was ok. Clean. Staff at reception pleasant but not particularly helpful. Bad criticism for the restaurants being closed at lower Sabie and Skukuza with no notification. We arrived at the camp late expecting to eat at the restaurant only to be told we could only buy food at the shop. We settled for very stale chicken mayo sandwiches which we could not eat, and by the time we went back for something else the shop was closed. Not a great experience

PROS: The restcamp is in a nice location with good view of the rivers. Enjoyed the nature and able to hear the birds chirping in the morning. Cons: The bungalow was rundown, in need of renovation and mosquito nets for the beds. The sheets were dirty, old and seem to be from some school trip with writing on them. Lizards and other critters are able to enter the room. The room had a funky smell and is very dirty. It is the worst accommodation I have been to. I don't need any fancy room, but something simple and clean. The dishes and pots needs to be replaced; it is in bad condition. The staffs at the front desk was unhelpful when asking questions as this is our first time visiting Kruger.

Things that were a problem are infrastructure maintenance and repair, crumbling roads, bathrooms need an upgrade, and the pool needs some shade and repair.We noticed some construction on the old buildings, hope all goes well and fast!

All the staff in Lower Sabie were VERY friendly!The quality of the food in the restaurant is well below par. I really feel something urgently needs to be done about the poor quality of the food in the KNP restaurants (Skukuza and Lower Sabi). It is well below par in is certainly not acceptable to overseas visitors. Also why no typical South African foods such as pap and wors, marogo, bobotie, venison etc??? Could only find Bunny Chow on the menu! How disappointing.Lastly the shops are hopelessly overpriced and is a rip off. I feel that if more reasonable prices are charged with a bigger variety turnover and profitability will improve.Both in Skukuza and Lower Sabie the abovementioned aspects have spoiled an otherwise great time in the KNP. You have great people working for you, so if you can do something about the quality of the food in your restaurants and have a relook at the prices of goods in the shops the total guest experience will improve exponentially.

9th and 10 Jan 2013 very hot 44C 11, 12 AND 13 raining, drizzling and nice and cool weather. Kruger looks great, only a pity killed another few Rhinos while in park. Every body must bye the Rhino horn from CNA and display on your car. Good time, worth the money, missed out on close by lions. Cheetah with Impala in tree 2km before Kruger gate. Fish eagle with catfish on bank of Sabie river at dam, cheetah eating Impala on ground, no tree to hoist in, 2 elephants fighting in road about an hour, drove behind wild dogs in road for about 2km, 2 Rhinos, elephants and hippos fighting.

This was our third time at LS - out first time with the kids.So this time we'd booked a family cottage and we were expecting something like Satara, Orpen or Berg-en-Dal. What a disappointment. 3 small rooms with an exterior connection which overlooked a mud-caked "garden". Depressing. Check-in staff were nice but could do nothing to help as it was busy season and everything was booked. We tried very hard to find an alternate as we really wanted to leave but no luck so we had to stick it out. Too bad as it was our last two nights in KNP and the others had all been excellent. We were told there are 4 x 2 Br Family Bungalows - 2 of which are on the perimeter. We got one of the other two that are not so If you are booking avoid 61 and 66 at all costs.Re the camp in general the area along the perimiter is nice but back from that the camp just does not seem cared for - no landscaping and lots of bare earth - which gives it an overall depressing feel.Shop is nice and well run and the restaurant is wonderful with a fantastic view. Decent food and OK service if a bit slow.

Tents are a little tired, awnings in front were torn. Complaint regarding faulty lights on deck disregarded twice. Maintenance is exceptionally poor. Staff extremely friendly and honest, found my wallet with over R1000 in it. We were notified of this on arrival at our next camp and the wallet was kept for me until I was able to collect one and half weeks later, with nothing missing. If the safari tents were kept well maintained, they would be a pleasure to stay in.

Really enjoyed our time there. Few problems, camp flooded on new years eve, no proper draining sites:( very sad new years. Two days into our stay the pool had a terrible smell. Some of the braai units were broken. Communal toilets may need more regular cleaning, seemed to be not clean most of the time. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. Had a lovely time

We were in the Park for a relative short time but it was worth all the effort. The lady who assisted me with the booking, Carien du Plessis was very helpful, the ranger who took us for the game drive, I think her name was Martie, was very professional, in fact she made the visit. The restaurant experience after the game drive was not good, may be next time I will take the visitors to eat before the game drive.It was a really good experience as usual.

We are a family with older children and enjoyed our stay in Lower Sabie, where we had 2 adjoining bungalows. We were lucky to see four of the Big Five animals in the first couple hours of our drive into the park. Maybe, it was the time of the day (we drove in before dusk when the animals came to the water holes before gearing up for the night. But, after that, we had no luck with the "Sunset Tour" and the "Morning Walk" that we signed up for. We did not see or hear anything to write home about.Some hiccups on the trip:1. Getting to our camp from Nelspruit Airport was expensive, if you do not rent a car.2. No plug point in the bungalow/s to recharge cameras and other equipment. We were left with scanty resources on the last day.

Our safari tents were the treat of a life time. Comfortable in every way. Could hardly see the fence between us and the river and as a result almost felt amongst and part of the wildlife scenes playing out in front of us. Night time was noisy but not being able to sleep because of the social life of wild animals while we were safely in our tents was a wonderful experience too. What a treat!

The first night it was pouring with rain and we struggled finding a single open campsite for us to stay at, so we were upgraded at no aditional cost to a lovely bungalowe , which was right on the lower sabie river. I was very impressed with that ,and it was so comforting to know i wasnt gonna have to pitch tent in the down pour . The rest of the weekend i thoroughly enjoyed but wouldve liked to have seen a few of the cats atleast.will definately camp again soon, just a bit dissapointed that the power point plugs only cater for those with caravans.

I'd like to comment on various observations, not just on Lower Sabie. My husband and I stayed in safari tent 27 at Lower Sabie. Our overseas guests stayed in number 28. Their tent was in much better condition, which is why we elected to give that one to them. The only non-optimum thing about that tent was a rather noisy ceiling fan (if it was switched on to a speed that was high enough to be effective). Our tent (27) needs attention because it has a leak in the area in front of the clothing cupboard. It rained quite hard during the night and there was a puddle in that area in the morning. The ceiling fan was extremely noisy, but a standard fan was installed so we used that. I was surprised to find that the kitchen area was totally exposed, seeing as this is a malaria area... I personally would have preferred it to be enclosed with some netting, seeing as one is always in that space in the early morning or after dark, when the mosquitoes are most active. My bedside light wasn't working. Otherwise, all was fine in the tent. We went to the restaurant for dinner and found the food to be extremely unimaginative. We all ordered chicken schnitzel because NOTHING else looked remotely interesting and it was nicely prepared but served only with uninteresting chips - no veg, no salad. I REALLY believe this is a terrible PR point. When people are on holiday and have a few bucks to spare, they like to be WELL fed. I would avoid the camp in future with the food so poor.The chef needs some training or some budget or some inspiration or something - very disappointing.On that subject - we stopped at Skukuza for lunch. After parking in the area nearest to the restaurant, we followed the signage that indicated where the entrance is. It led through a "back alley" sort of zone which was untidy and neglected looking. Very strange approach to a place where one plans to eat... Once inside, we sat at a table that had a table mat which looked as though a rat had chewed through it - a huge hole in it and the mats didn't look very clean. My guest and I ordered "butternut soup" at the restaurant alongside the river. We both took one sip and couldn't face another one. It was horrible! Again, WHY is it so difficult for a chef in a high profile location such as Kruger NATIONAL park (!!) - representing our country to tens of thousands of visitors who have money to spend, to put such a simple meal together? It is NOT difficult to make tasty food. We sent our food back to the kitchen. I was embarrassed!! That chef needs handling and needs a recipe book! My husband ordered tea. There was one tea bag in a double-sized teapot filled with water. As a result the tea was like "dishwater". Hmmm...won't be going there again if I can help it.Also, it would be much nicer to have some extra shade on the deck outside that restaurant. It was stinking hot that day and the tree just wasn't able to provide enough shade, so we went inside.As far as the travelling experience was concerned, we felt that the Park was being well cared for. The roads were fine. It is a truly magnificent zone and we saw lots of game.I'd really appreciate it if you could send the relevant comments/criticisms to the relevant management in each camp as this will save me from having to write all this again.Many thanks!

Requested change in tent accommodation. No 12 looked directly into setting sun and bush - not good esp when I booked months in advance. Kitchen equipment far too limited - no drainage rack, only 2 pieces of cutlery per item, no paring knife, only one wine glass etc. This really needs to be looked into.

The Guides on the drives varied - not up to the same standard in terms of information and general patter that the private game reserves are. But they got us around safely and a few were very good.

We had a great time. The Lower Sabie camping ground is neatly laid out and accommodating, and the proximity to the river makes the location quite special. Lions were harder to come across than I've experienced in the past, but overall game viewing was a pleasure, usually driving North from the camp. One let down was a morning drive with a closed mouthed guide, and unusually sparse sightings. Also, having inadvertently booked through a travel agency via the safari.com website, we couldn't move our last night Skukuza booking to Lower Sabie, despite there being space to accommodate us. Whatever the case may be, a good experience was had.

At lower Sabie we had a fully equipped safari tent. However i would not recommend this tent at all. There was a giant gap where the 2 tents meet allowing millions of bugs to fly in during the evening. It was very unpleasant. We had to stuff the gap with towels to reduce the number of bugs in the room. It really did ruin our stay at this location. It is great that you have animal proof rubbish bins throughout the camps however silly to then have an open rubbish bin on the porch of each room.

There is definitely a change in the wildlife since you had floods there. Also with the discontinuation of the watering holes game viewing is minimal.

I get angry when I read the letters of complaint in the newspapers. I have been to KNP many times and never had a bad experience. Toilets, chalets, shops - all are always clean and well maintained. The pool at Lower Sabie was sparkling. It is just the best place to relax and listen to Africa.

Tent 19 - reported power tripping when we arrived.[14.30hours]On return - 18.00 hours - had not been attended to - electrician had merely flipped the circuit breaker back up again - didn't actually identify and repair the problem as to why the circuit breaker had tripped! I established that it was the bathroom light switch that was causing the problem....

We had intended to dine out a great deal during our 6 day stay, but after the first meal (which was our anniversary dinner) we decided that we it would be better for us to cook our own food. It seems such a missed opportunity not to serve meals to a higher standard considering the captive audience that they have and taking into account that it is an international clientele. Both my wife and I have been involved with food for many years and just felt frustrated at the poor impression South Africa was giving to her visitors.Aside from the food, the experience was amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful at all times, and we thank you for providing such a wonderful location for us to enjoy especially for our anniversary. Could anything be better!!!

Lower Sabie bungalows are delightful. Self contained with cooking facility on an outdoor verandah. Ours was facing the river & we could watch hippos & elephants from our deck. They appear modern, sparsely but nicely appointed. Game watching was amazing.

One night I woke up: electricity had gone. Luckily I did not meet any wild animals (like in the pictue about dinosaurs...).The morning drive was succesful, we did see 2 leopards, one with his kill in the tree.

We stayed at Lower Sabie for the first time after visiting other camp sites across Kruger National Park and the stay was by far the best ever! The camp site is clean and the facilities great. Lower Sabie will definitely see us again!

From that I made my booking until we drove out of Numbi Gate I was smiling all the way.Friendly service, our room were clean and tidy and thank you for showing the rugby in the restaurant. I love the KNP and Lower Sabie is always a beautiful place to get away. It really felt that I was on holiday for two weeks. Thank you!

The service at the restaurant remains pathetic as it has for many years now.The chalet was super but I would have expected some tea cups or mugs, cereal bowls and a cloth to dry dishes.

I recently spent a night in the Safarui Tents at Lower Sabie, and must comment on the condition. The tiles in the bathroom are lifting, the wooden floorboards in the tent are splitting and lifting. The covers over the tents are all ripped and flap in the wind creating quite a noise.Overall the tents need some urgent maintenance.

The Park was an absolute delight as usual. The animals seem to know what is expected of them, but the same cannot be said about the humans. The food and service at the restaurant at Lower Sabie was shocking. They had run out of supplies, such as chicken, burger patties, etc on the first day of the September long weekend. Limited supplies arrived the next day, but was again soon depleted - by lunch time. It really ended up being a long weekend, with an equally "weak" beginning ...

Thank you for a very enjoyable week at your park. We had one day of extreme heat and with that not many animals to see, and then came the chilly weather and the cold drizzle. Animals were scarce but we however rest in the tranquillity of nature.

We were in tented accommodation just 30 seconds walk from the river boardwalk. Saw elephants and hippos by the dozens, as well as a bushbuck with baby in the early morning. Once again everything was wonderful and relaxing. We had a flat tyre wheilst here, and two Park attendants very kindly assisted in changing the wheel and getting the other one repaired, with no fuss. THIS IS DEFINITELY A CAMP TO VISIT. NOTE: We saw the "Big 5 over the whole trip, not necessarily at one camp.

Lower Sabie was a special treat, it was great to be at the camp along the river with the animals right there. Tents were clean and comfortable, we really felt like we got a bit more of the Africa experience staying in the tents. Was our favourite stay in Kruger. Very happy with our stay.

Lovely chalet and design. I cannot, however, ever work out why so many levels are made on patios to braais - I have knee problems and find it very tiresome. The bricks placed (un-cemented) as a step to a very high patio should be fixed. The check list was for a completely different chalet and again didn't have a tin opener, borrowed from neighbour. Loved the sliding doors. We went on a sunset drive with Promise and in 55 minutes (I am sure is a record in KP) saw the big 5! We knew where two were as we had just been along that road but still was very good. She was fantastic, took her time for us to see the animals and was the best game drive I have been on in KP - she needs to be complimented). Certainly will book one of those chalets again.

It is a breathtaking experience. We are planning our next trip to the Northern part for next year already. The only thing they can have a look at is to build some extra toilet facilities between the camps. Because if you drive from berg en dal to lower sabie theirs nothing untill lower sabie or crocodile. And one or to hides with it to go and enjoy a peaceful afternoon and watch the animals coming to drink at a waterhole. Other than that, we enjoyed it extremely.

Plus sides: The tent was well equipped, clean and with a good location. Enjoyed the birds, the hippos and lion roar at night. We saw the big five and wild dogs. Other visitors were friendly and the reception was friendly and efficient.Down sides: Waste had been burned just in front of our tent nr 23 leaving burned cans and other residue. A staff at the cafeteria claimed we had not paid for our coffee although we had paid. We paid again and left it at that in order not to argue. A lot of cars in the sites with lions and leopards but I guess its unavoidable on a weekend.

We had a great holiday and experience.Maybe one little, big thing!I know this may sound strange, but we experienced very unfortunately high levels of noise from undissiplened toddlers. And this was from different families. I wonder if it makes sense for very young families to have a kruger experience. I would suggest a policy of no children under 6 if I could have a wish.For the record , I am not an old fart and have young teens myself.

Really enjoyed our stay. The views from the bungalow were stunningI cannot rememer which animals were seen on which days. The sightings are a collective summation during our visit. We also stayed at Berg n Dal and Crocodile Bridge. Berg n Dal was awesome, Crocodile Bridge not so nice.

My partner and I stayed in a hut at Lower Sabie for three nights. Both of us have never seen so much game! We saw all of the big five on numerous occasions, including 3 different lion sightings, 2 leopard sightings and an abundance of buffalo, rhino and elephant. We were also fortunate enough to see cheetah, hyena and jackal. The bird sightings were also good, including a Verreaux's Giant Eagle Owl. I would definitely recommend Lower Sabie camp in June. Other than the game viewing, our stay was very comfortable and affordable. We will be back!

Great experience over all. A lovely camp, we would love to visit again. We booked and payed for a bungalow on the perimeter, and looked forward to this very much. We were extremely disappointed when we arrived and were allocated a unit far from the perimeter in the middle of the camp. During our stay some bungalows on the perimeter were not occupied. We would in future like to have some way to ensure that this does not happen to us again.

From a South African working in the UK, the newly-built cottages are very good, the bathrooms exceptional, linen very good. Baboon/monkey-proofed kitchens super. Someone obviously reported a hot water problem in the camp and this was very quickly checked in person by a member of staff - outside of normal hours - impressive service. But the reception staff and shop staff were not to the same standard. They are not the welcoming and helpful people we have enjoyed at other camps.

I was absolutely APPALLED by the Lower Sabie rest camp reception from the staff. Pretoriuskop reception staff were better tuned to engage new guests, however, the PARK FEES are OVER PRICED especially since they must be paid every day! Internationals pay more than SA visitors so it encourages people to not reveal their nationality when travelling with South Africans. The roads are poorly maintained. Kruger Park.com did not respond to my email enquiries around late arrival so I arranged it myself with a ranger at the park!

The hut we were expecting turned out to be a terraced row of room. The external "Brie" area was sadly in need of renovation, the communal facilities were tired and to cap it all off, as an international inter-racial couple, we had the pleasure of our car's windscreen being covered in Vaseline on the day of departure. I'll leave you to guess the language of the people in the rooms surrounding us!

The area around the reception, restaurant, etc. are kept nice and clean. The gardens are well manicured, but this is where it ends. Within the camping/caravan area it leaves a lot to be desired. Gardens are dirty, overgrown with rubbish and in a state of neglect. A lot of tourist make use of these grounds and it sure leaves a bad experience in comparison with the rest of the camp

Enjoyed our stay at lower Sabie, the bungalo was clean and the scenary from the cafeteria was exceptional. There were animals everywhere we went, and we have the opportunity to see the big five in the first 24 hours at the park. There wwere no signs for the Crocodile bridge gate on N4 and we missed our turn and almost ended up in MozanbiqueSam FaragSunset Beach, NC USA

Kruger park is awesome, the variety of wildlife is beyond any describtion. We were able to see all big five in the first 24 hours in the park. The bungalow accommodation and the cafeteria food were adequate, but nothing to write home about, however, the cleaning service were below par. Please ensure the Wi-FI hot spot is operational for future visitors. Thanks for a great experience; I must add that the staff and everyone we met were extremely friendly and helpful.

The Kruger is and will also stay the best. The only problem I have was when we got our ref nr through Accomodation Direct I phoned Lower Sabie Rest camp and ask for tent nr 29(one of the best views) which was confirmed by a person named Phendulile. I phoned a second time and again it was confirmed. Then on arrival their sytem was down and we got tent nr 16. After we have complaint and the feedback we got I still feel this is unacceptable. We have booked a year in advance for certain dates, knowing the best views certain tents have and asked for that. Why can't we get the tents we have asked for? The second problem I have was the litter lying around underneath the deck at the Lower sabie restaurant.Isn't there a routine that this has to be picked up every morning? Come on people, lets keep the Kruger clean!! However, despite of the complaints the Kruger stays nr 1!

Only one slight house-keeping concern. Guests are asked to place recycleable materials in a separate bin, but first thing cleaning staff do when they arrive is to throw the contents of this bin into the general refuse.

Our experience of 2 nights at Lower Sabie were satisfactory; the accommodation was acceptable and the game viewing fairly good though we think that R820 per night for self-catering is too expensive, particularly when R96 for daily Conservation Fee is added on. The restaurant was not up to scratch: eating with plastic cutlery on shaky chairs; the use of heavy metal chairs & tables on a wooden deck is crazy & when moved the noise is horrendous!There should have been a few spotlights from the deck onto the river in the evening.

Our stay was made very enjoyable in the accommodation as it suited us very well. A room for Grandma and 2 children ages 5 and 3 with Mum and Dad and 17 month old in their own room with a bathroom in each room. Having the large kitchen/lounge completely separate helped as this kept bedrooms clean and tidy and not play areas. 5 nights at the one camp with small children was the sensible option with wonderful game viewing daily and family friendly camp facilities. The children wanted to play safely in the private outdoor braai area but the dirt is a problem so a paved or grassed area would have been good to keep the children enclosed for clean play. Would recommend this accommodation for families or groups. Wonderful, thank you.

The Kruger National Park is my ultimate destination irrelative in which camp i stay. However, this was my first stay in Lower Sabie and indeed NOT my last! It was exceptional thank you so much!I really do not have any complaints. My bookings in the park already done for two other visits this year!Regards

The entire weekend was awesome, the chalet was clean and spacious. We got to see the big 5 whilst driving on our own through the park and also went on an evening game drive. The "up-close-and-personal" highlight was seeing an elephant in musk come running straight toward us on the road, and we had to reverse for about 300m before he lost interest and turned away.

After visiting the Kruger for many years, this bungalow was the best so far: not too modern to deduct from the bush but comfortable enough to want to go back very soon! And a view to die for!

The highlight of our stay here and my entire holiday is the afternoon we spent driving back to Lower Sabie on our final day in KNP. I finally saw white rhino, including a family of 5 with a calf. A complete delight and I hope that future generations are not denied this sight by the needless poaching that's currently happening. We were also extremely excited to see a leopard on the side of the road not 6km from the camp - wonderful.Lower Sabie was our last stop in Kruger and our initial impression of the camp itself was not good. Having stayed at a lot smaller camps up until now we experienced quite a culture shock staying here. We also found ourselves having to drive to the restaurant. Previously we'd been able to walk. And the room was very cramped. The air conditioner although operational, deposited a black soot like substance over the pillow of the bed that was directly below it. As the room was so small there was nowhere to move the bed to though. I wouldn't choose to stay in this camp again.

Fantastic trip! Although we never saw as much game as we would have liked, the rest camp great - clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Will definitely be back!
