We went to find the manager when we left to tell her how great our stay was. The facilities are amazing and the staff fantastic. For the first time in 40 years of going to the Park, I actually had someone come to our chalet and ask if everything was in order!!!!??! The shop was the best we visited with staff that were friendly and helpful. Although we saw less game, we will definitely be going back. Its now our favourite camp.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary by camping at Shingwedzi camp. The camping grounds were accumulate, ablution blocks were always clean and the braai facilities were sufficient. The restaurants and shops were fabulous. It was an experience to remember. My highlight was the game drive - Oscar the ranger was very knowledgeable.we learnt so much in those 1 hours. We are already planning our next trip back.

Yes I loved my stay at Shingwedzi. The peace and quiet was fantastic. The attitude and friendliness of staff was lovely. Value for money is good if you camping. Only suggestion I would have is half price accommodation in off peak periods. The camp was maybe 20% full while we were there. The only complaint is the 500 fine I received for arriving back to camp late. Then I take some of the blame but a lot of the cause has to go to poor signage which led to a poor decision.

Thank you to all the staff at Shingwedzi especially Christa, (who by the way, is like Wonder Woman!) for an absolutely amazing holiday. The campsite was spotlessly clean as were the bathrooms and kitchen areas, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful and we will definitely make a 3rd visit as soon as we can! The only downside to the whole holiday was that we went on the New Year's eve game drive and although a lovely spread was put on by the catering staff and they were very professional, we had the feeling that our ranger, Oscar, did not really want to be there. When we spotted a Scops Owl and one of the guests asked what the owl was called, he replied "I'm not good at such things". A better reply would have been to ask if anyone on the vehicle knew and if not to tell the guest that he wasn't too sure but would find out and come back to him. It just seemed a little unprofessional. We wish all the staff at Shingwedzi and indeed in all the camps, a blessed and wonderful 2015.

Well SanParks out did themselves with everything from staff to accommodation. We camped and the ablution facilities were brilliant always clean and with toilet paper, hand soap and towels available 24/7. All the staff we dealt with were friendly. The restaurant was excellent value for money and brilliant food. There is nothing I could actually comment on to add as it was our first visit and it will not be our last. The littel houses have outside kitchen and grills to stay Independent, since Restaurant is limited. Pool area is very nice as well. Animals have been far less around as at Satara Restcamp, but still giraffes, elefants, Buffalos, even lions and lots of birds are easy to find, just not as plentifull as in the middle of KrÃ¼ger NP

As Brits we were charged R868 for every camp the three of us stayed at. Total paid therefore was the equivalent of nearly Â£200 on top of the fees for the rooms! South Africans have to pay only a quarter of the price for the conservation fees. Clearly this will rebound on the Kruger Park. Government need to sort this quickly - punishing visitors will cost them money unless they see sense and reign in these fees dramatically.

After Letaba and Olifants, we were a bit disappointed with Shingwedzi. We saw very little game (not your fault!). We feel that you should emphasize quiet on the deck at the restaurant. Running and screaming children do not encourage game to come to the water.

Our family had a great time at the Kruger. A few things looked like they needed further attention. Toilets needed to be cleaned more often, sometimes they looked terrible. We kept on having to pay extra money at each site we stayed at..frustrating as I was led to believe we had paid fully for the entire trip. Overall though, I would say it was an experience to remember, thank you Kruger park and all the staff. By the way, the staff we really fantastic..

As always & with all our previous visits, we once again experienced the magic that the Kruger Park has in abundance. We are campers, but decided to stay in huts this time around. The huts that we slept at were clean & sufficiently equipped for our needs. We received clean towels from housekeeping shortly after arrival at our hut & our fireplace was cleaned early the next morning. The ablution facilities were also very tidy & clean. Other facilities that we used, swimming pools, restaurants, park shops, receptions etc. were very satisfactory & with good & friendly service.Thank you so much for the upkeep & creation of a facility that contributed to our wonderful holiday xxx

Overall it was amazing to be back, I loved it, the huts were looked after, the staff friendly and it was a good experience,however it was tainted by the prices and condition of the shop and dining room in Shingwedzi,the menu was very limited and the atmosphere was just not there, but Letaba was great, the shop was horrendous, prices 325 % more than Phalabowa (no excuses about transport please) the staff rude and unhelpful. but Letaba and Oilphants shops were awesome. I understand the Shingwedzi shop/dining room will becoming back to Sanparks so we wait and see. Lastly what would make a difference would be a bit more professionalism from the staff and actual interest in the clients, and more local knowledge. We enjoyed the trip. However, it's evident that there are far too many day visitors been allowed into the park, rest-camp facilities were swamped during the day, rather unpleasant in this regard.

Our stay at Shingwedzi was good. Surprisingly there were not as many people as we anticipated - but it was still full and yet very quiet from a noise level perspective - which was awesome.We had a clean campsite, clean ablutions in spite of rains - and we all know how muddy ablutions get during the rainy periods. On one trip up to Pafuri picnic spot and Crooks Corner we had 3 individual sightings of Southern Ground Hornbills with chicks. We love interacting with the researchers in the park and being able to game spot with a purpose - so frantic photos were taken to try and look for identification rings to see if our birds were new discoveries for those collecting the data. We also came across 4 cheetahs interested in an Impala Ram herd. On our return besides all the other wonderful game - we were rewarded with the 4 cheetahs eating their impala.My only suggestion this time is that more hooks are placed on the backs of the doors in the bathrooms and toilets - to keep clothes and towels off the ground during shower times.ThanksKaren

The food at their restaurant gave my wife diarrhea on two occasions. Their shop does not sell fresh vegetables. The service at their Christmas buffet was shocking,we waited for our table to be ready yet we had pre-booked. We waited another 10 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us,another 10min for the starter to be served. Ate two spoons of the ox tongue starter & it gave me diarrhea. My system was in shock and the waitress had the audacity to gossip about how I wasn't smiling throughout the buffet, yet she never even enquired about our food & whether everything was fine. She was bold enough to expect a tip for services un-rendered. It is a never to be repeated experience. They won an award for 2011. Having a number of increased visitors at your camp versus other camps does not equal to excellence. They should ask their visitors about their experience versus taking number of visitors as a measure of their excellence.

The staff were hard at work, cleaning up the camp ground at 07h00. The ablutions were very clean and well maintained. The camping area was tidy and very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at Shingwedzi and wish that we could have had more time there.Loved the swimming pool which was very well maintained and clean.Found the shop not up to the standard of the others in the Park - rather poorly stocked.

Have never seen so many buffalos in so many herds before. Love Shingwedzi camp. Will visit again. The pies in shop was not so fresh on the Sunday.

My friend and i went on a hike in the park, accompanied by 5 other tourists and 2 guides. It was absolutely amazing! We saw very many birds, and other interesting animals. This is something every south African should do some time. We then stayed in the Shingwedzi camp after the hike. Here, we found the campsite and ablutions clean and presentable. The restaurant served amazing food and the staff throughout the campsite were friendly and helpful!

Keagan was fantastic. Kind and patient and clever in figuring out my slightly off-kilter trip. I am a single mother, traveling with 3 of my grown kids and my sister and her daughter. They like adventure, I like a little luxury. But also, since I am paying for them all...I didn't want to over pay for our Safari adventure. Keagan got me and our hope for the long weekend. Simply The Best

We are now home from our trip and am writing to thank you for organising such an amazing adventure. We cannot fault anything about the trip from start to finish. Buffalo Camp was fantastic - the accommodation, the food and the hospitality too but most of all our game drive guys who were awesome. We saw the ‘big 5” and more. Slon and Forest went above and beyond to find the animals we wanted to see. Then we transferred to Victoria Falls River Lodge and became part of a family. I can hardly find the words to describe it. From sitting in our plunge pool watching a crocodile swimming up the Zambezi to our helicopter ride over Victoria Falls and everything in between. What a beautiful place run by beautiful people. We were invited back by both Buffalo Camp and Victoria Falls River Lodge and hopefully we can do that in the not too distant future and if it becomes possible we will not hesitate to use Safari.com again. We truly recommend your services. Once again, thank you for organising the best holiday we have ever had and one we shall treasure forever. Best wishes.

Pascal was wonderful to work with. We wanted to stay in Sabi Sands during peak season and were having a lot of trouble finding a great lodge to stay in. Superb short Safari

We were referred to Safari.com through a UK safari holiday company. We were dubious at first about dealing with a company in South Africa but we found Safari.com and in particular Mr Keagan Davids, very easy to comunicate with. He was very communicative and made all the necessary arrangements. Unfortunately, the safari lodge we'd booked got flooded out so Keagan found an alternative lodge Called Kapama River Lodge. It was great. Very nice accommodation. Great efficient and friendly staff etc. We were not disappointed. All of the arrangements went like clockwork so we'd highly recommend Safari.com

Booking for Addo Elephant Park…

I made a booking for Addo Elephant Park through Safari.com. The instructions were clearly conveyed to me regarding the payment of a deposit to secure the booking. The service received from the lady I dealt with was very professional. For example, upon requesting a change in accommodation type, the request was promptly attended to and I was informed accordingly which I noticed was outside office hours. Proof of secured accommodation was sent promptly and reminder for payment of balance was send well in advance of final date. Finally, once payment was cleared, I received the booking voucher as well as forms to be filled in by all passengers upon entrance as well as the conservation fees to be paid. All in all it was a pleasure to deal with Safari.com and we are looking forward to our stay in ADDO ELEPHANT PARK. Thank you.

We had a lovely holiday!

Hi Chantal The Summit place guest house was First class , the warmest welcome Robyn was a first class host , the day drips to the wine region and Cape of Good hope etc where really good also. Limoni apartments where lovely, we were looked after by the maids and the property was fantastic . Amakhala service was fantastic, really first class couldn’t fault it. Unorgettable trip in South Africa

Cape Town miracle

I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company

What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude

These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire.
