Reviews

"A very special experience to view this beautiful area of Sabi Sabi and the Selati Camp was especially attentive to our wishes. Our knowledgeable ranger Kyle and his tracker Mike gave us 4 days of unforgettable viewing and the Loon family are to be congratulated for preserving this piece of paradise . Did I mention the magnificent food? We would recommend this camp without exception and it opened our eyes to the beauty of Africa. Thank you so much."

"We stayed in Selati for two nights and it had been the best and most incredible Safari experience so far. Nothing to say that the games were just amazing, our ranger was a real "hunter" and we saw a lot a "live" wild actions - Lions fighting for their prey, Leopard eating in its tree, we found ourselves in the middle of 800 buffalo, etc... - The dedicated staff makes your stay amazing, you feel like treated as a special and honor guest. Rooms are big and luxurious (we were staying in the Suite), and food is really good. Sabi Sabi is the best place to go for a Safari in SA, and Selati camp might be one of the best place to stay!"

"Sabi Sabi Selati was the last of the three game preserves that we stayed at on our South Africa trip. While we wondered how it could get any better than the previous two camps, we were pleasantly surprised. Of course, accommodation in the Presidential Suite certainly helped, but the total experience including meals, staff attentiveness, and game drives was amazing. While the Rangers at the other two camps were super, Aniska was incredible. The detail of animal behavior and flora description that she provided along with a fantastic bush walk and provocative dinner conversation elevated this camp to the top of our list. Her discourse on the planets, constellations, and wonders of the universe on a clear moonless night was an experience that we will never forget."

"Our tracker, Dolan, was wonderful and our guide, Martin was fantastic."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sabi Sabi Selati camp. We were warmly welcomed by Terri and Taryn. Our ranger Courtney and tracker Eric spotted and shared with us the beautiful and magnificent wildlife while we were on our two 3 hour safari drives per day. Courtney's passion and commitment to her work was infectious and we learned so much about the animals and their habitat. The staff at the camp were friendly and conscientious. This is not just a place to stay, it is an amazing experience we would highly recommend."

"Five stars for Selati Camp at Sabi Sabi Game Reserve! A warm welcome, great accommodation and fabulous food. The chef, Gift, created the most sumptuous vegetarian meals. Special thanks goes to Eve, our Ranger and Donald, our Tracker. They made our first Safari experience unforgettable. Nothing was too much trouble for them, both were passionate about what they do and very knowledgeable. If you are visiting Selati camp then you've cracked it if get Eve and Donald!! Selati Camp is perfect for couples. There are only 8 suites, so you really feel like that you are being looked after. A must if this is your first safari experience!!"

"Selati camp at Sabi Sabi is a quaint and romantic place to escape from the city hussle and bussle, with only six suites, the peace and quiet of nature is overwhelming. Suites are very comfortable, clean and spacious. Very friendly well trained staff perform their tasks quietly and efficiently. Tasty food prepared by chef "Gift" was a delight. Managers Brett and Ashleigh tend to your every need while Game Ranger "Eve" escorted us on game drives and shared her vast knowledge of the birds and animals with us."

"We were treated like special guests from the time of arrival until departure. Safari tours were amazing and we so appreciated ranger Kyle and tracker Mike for their excellent tracking, fun, sundowners we loved, and great finds of leopards and lions. Sightings of giraffe, water bucks, and baboons at the water hole were special. Meals (many!) and cocktail hours were the best."

"From the moment we were greeted at the Skukuza Airport by Byron, our extraordinary guide, to when our stay ended 3 days later, our time spent at Sabi Selati was fabulous and beyond expectations!. The cottages were spacious and amenities wonderful. The staff were all welcoming and gracious and the food spectacular. The setting was lovely with pool, watering hole and outdoor covered lounge area. The day and evening safaris were each an adventure to remember, enhanced by our experienced tracker Mike ("a man of few words" but extraordinary skill). Byron and Mike made a terrific pair, combining skills so that we were able to experience many wonderful animals and events, including the highlight: the pursuit and eventual mating of lions. Byron was very knowledgeable and went out of the way to answer questions about tracking and respond to many questions regarding animal lifestyles, informing and educating, evening safari also included night star gazing! From assisting with capturing fabulous photos of the beautiful sunsets to working to track so we saw Big 5 (+2), to serving wine at evening safari, each moment became more memorable. Our daughters, 28, 24, had their own cottage and seemed not to mind the early rise at 6:15 for Safari - that speaks to the exciting adventure! The hot water bottles and wool blankets during morning safari also made the cool mornings more enjoyable. We would highly recommend the Sabi Selati lodge and am grateful to the staff who made this trip full of wonderful memories for our family!"
