Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg to Idube Game Lodge

Your safari adventure begins with a flight from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. On arrival, we will meet and transfer you to the lodge for check-in.

The luxurious Idube Game Lodge is situated within the private Sabi Sands Game Reserve, located in the southwestern corner of the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The reserve is famous for big cat sightings, as well as the Big Five. This exclusive and intimate family-owned lodge offers guests an authentic safari experience with its tranquil setting, well-appointed accommodation, and personalized service.

Depending on your arrival time, you may venture out on your first-afternoon game drive in search of wildlife, including the Big Five. Game drives are approximately three and a half to four hours long, with a sundowner stop while watching the majestic sunset. You return to camp in the early evening to enjoy a perfectly prepared meal under the African sky.

Day 2: Sabi Sand Safari

Guests are welcomed onto open vehicles twice a day, morning and late afternoon. On safari, guides and trackers share their wealth of knowledge about the animals and birds they encounter. They pride themselves on being able to identify tracks and follow them, ensuring the best possible viewing for guests. This is where guests really get close to lions, elephants, and other big game.

After exciting game viewing, guests have some free time to either cool off in the sparkling boulder pool or perhaps go for a workout in the well-equipped gym.

Sumptuous meals are served either on the sheltered timber deck with magnificent views of the surrounding bush and wildlife or in the boma under a canopy of stars. There is nothing like a cold, refreshing drink in the bar after an exciting game drive in the African bush.

Idube also offers additional activities such as informative wildlife talks, a tracker’s course, visits to the Shangana Cultural Village, and traditional dance performances.

Day 3: Departure

This morning, you venture out on your last game drive in the African bush before returning to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. You will have some time to freshen up and pack your belongings before saying your goodbyes and transferring to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.

On arrival, you will connect with your onward flight back home. You may leave South Africa with a heavy heart, but not without some unforgettable experiences that will stay etched in your memory for a lifetime.
