Where George Clooney and Hugh Jackman go on safari

Where George Clooney and Hugh Jackman go on safari

Ever wondered where celebrities go on safari?

I have! Being a bit of a movie buff, I'll go on record and admit I get my fix of low quality info from seeing what celebs are up to.

So I thought I'd merge two of my passions into a quick article.

Hugh Jackman - Phinda Forest Lodge

I went to Phinda Forest Lodge years ago, and the staff mentioned that Hugh Jackman had stayed there. I never fact checked it, but it stayed with me and a quick search now revealed it was indeed true! Not only that, the feedback was congruent with my experience which was top notch.

The A list wolverine star was in South Africa filming the movie Chappie (mullet and all).

Justin Bieber - Idube Game Lodge

I was in Cape Town when Bieber was in town. In fact he stayed at the One and Only in Cape Town around 2010.

What I also found out was that he went on a proper African safari and after some digging, discovered it was in the Greater Kruger Park, specifically at Idube Game Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. He was a lot younger at the time, as you can see in the pic! But the fact he keeps returning to South Africa should tell you something..

George Clooney and Justin Timberlake - Singita Sasakwa

Pretty crazy to have two big hitters having stayed at the same reserve. That's when you know..

Of course it would be Singita, probably the top safari brand in the minds of wealthy Americans.

These two were spotted staying at Singita Grumeti Reserve in Serengeti National Park. It was a honeymoon choice for Timberlake and a rumoured proposal spot for Clooney. The specific lodge seems to be Sasakwa Lodge.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is in South Africa at the time of this article, busy filming Mission Impossible 8.

He will be going on safari but of course we cannot disclose where. Else he'd be mobbed and it wouldn't be much of a holiday!

But stay tuned for a future article.
