The Detail

Perched on top of Sasakwa Hill, Singita Sasakwa Lodge offers a spectacular vantage point for guests to witness an abundance of wildlife and the world's largest annual animal migration. About two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle make their way north into Kenya's Masai Mara, passing through the Grumeti and Serengeti reserves.

The Edwardian manor house and private cottages are an interesting blend of authentic European style and East African influences.

Singita Sasakwa boasts six 1-bedroom cottages, two 2-bedroom cottages, one 3-bedroom cottage, and one 4-bedroom villa; each with an en-suite bathroom and their own private infinity pool. Each cottage and villa is luxurious and boasts every comfort expected of a 5-star lodge.

The main lodge boasts a shared swimming pool, gym, library, day spa, and boutique. There is also a special temperature-controlled cellar where guests can sample and purchase premium wines.

For children, there is face painting, baking with the chefs, and a mini rangers’ course which teaches kids about tracking and bush survival skills.

Activities offered at the lodge include daily morning and afternoon game drives led by professional guides. Afternoon drives continue into the early evening, offering the opportunity to spot the rare nocturnal species of the African bushveld. For the more adventurous traveler, there are walking safaris that offer a close-up encounter with the smaller wondrous creatures of the bush, stargazing, community visits, swimming, board games and archery which can be arranged.

During your stay, you are likely to see a great variety of wildlife including bat-eared foxes, buffalo, cheetah, Colobus monkey, various antelope, elephant, leopard, lion and Massai giraffe.

This lodge is a dream, located in the most beautiful part of northern Tanzania. The Sasakwa lodge is located at the hill with a breathtaking view. You are facing a high end luxury stay, but no jet set style. Expensive, but value for money. We stayed with our whole family (parents and 3 children, age 13, 15, 17 years) in a separate cottage 2 min walking from the main building. This cottage was very spacial and you miss nothing not even your own pool. Laundry is taking care within 3 hours - free of charge. You have an all inclusive room rate so nobody is asking for the room number before saying good morning and you do not even have to sign anything during your stay. Everything like Breakfast, lunches and dinner, wine and drinks at the bar is part of all inclusive. The wine they serve is at the upper mid range level and ok. If you need your Chateau Petrus it is available. The staff is a dream. You have your personal butler which knows all about you before your arrive, after the first contact and dinner he even knows your habits. Your personal ranger is extremely knowledgeable and shows you all the games. He even knows when the "lion and leopard kills" are going to take place and bring you there. All in all the manager of the Sasakwa lodge manager couple Brad and Kate are excellent host. You feel as staying with good friends. Extremely gentle, personalities who kept their natural human being behavior. Our 8 days safari is over. After having our last safari tour on a balloon safari we are now heading towards Zanzibar where we are staying in The Residence. After that experience. They will have a tough time " to keep up with the Jones"

We spent a few days at Sasakwa Lodge in August 2014 as part of a trip to Tanzania. It was without doubt the highlight of our trip. The service is perfection from the moment we were met from our flight at the small airport, to being greeted by the very charming managers Brad and Kate as well as having the same fantastic waiter for all meals for the duration of your stay nothing is left to chance. The lodge is stunning with beautiful views over the serengeti, a lovely infinity edge pool and cheeky monkeys running around the grounds. Our 3 bedroom villa was beyond fabulous with gorgeous decor that was a very cool mix of European and African. The real reason you come here is for the game and it is unbeatable - in our 2 nights our highlights included a mother cheetah and a cub, a pride of 15+ lions with 6 cubs, 60+ elephants swimming and playing, in the dam. We travelled to many parts of Tanzania and this was the best wildlife experience hands down. The fact that most of the time you are the only vehicle watching these animals only adds to the experience. Our guide Alf had amazing knowledge as well as being a great guys to hang out with. I really can't say enough good things about this place. It is crazy expensive but absolutely worth every cent. We'll be back!

The service, staff and experience at this lodge make it the very best. It deserves to be ranked at the top of the list of lodges. Do the walking tour after your game drive - it is a well kept secret. Aloise is an excellent guide and he will ensure that you see all the wildlife.

After spending 4 days in the lovely tented camp at Sabora, we went to Sasakwa lodge. My son Daan (13 years old) and I were already mind-blown by the experience at Sabora, but arriving at Sasakwa lodge we were speechless. Though we were prepared by my sister Bea and her husband Karl-Heinz, who had invited us for this amazing trip, Daan and I were beyond belief. Sasakwa has fantastic facilities and staff with a stunning view over the beautiful landscape. The staff, run by Brad and Kate, adds a personal touch and a high service level to Sasakwa. When Daan got ill because of an ear-infection Brad immediately got a doctor to look at it. Thank you again Brad...... But our stay at Sabora tented camp and Sasakwa lodge was even more unforgettable by meeting Matthew, our guide during this week. He showed us so much of the beautiful nature, animals and plants and learned us so much about his people, the Masai. He really interacted, specially with Daan, who is a nature-lover by heart. Matthew is an amazing person. We feel so privileged having made this journey thanks to Bea and Karl-Heinz. Daan and I will never forget

Unorgettable trip in South Africa
We have spent 12 days as a family in South Africa with my 3 children and my wife who is in a wheelchair. Thanks to Pascal, Safari.com consultant, we were able to spend an unforgettable moment with a great program while being well accompanied despite our constraints. I recommand particularly the "Monwana game lodge" for a safari in Hoedspruit. It's an amazing place with very nice people and a real family atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Safari.com team for this unforgettable trip.

Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude
These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire. Their senior agent, Dolan is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail, transparency, and 'can-do' attitude are out of the ordinary. I recently came into contact with Tanya at safari.com as well. It looks like all their agents are similarly well trained. Thank you. I cannot recommend Dolan and his team highly enough.

Cape Town miracle
I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company
What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Henry definitely knew the territory and did a great job matching what we wanted with where he suggested we go and stay. Thanks Safari.com, Henry and Catherine!
