Kisawa Sanctuary introduces a fresh approach to luxury hospitality, honoring the deep connection between people and nature. One-Bedroom Residence
Situated between the dunes and the shoreline, these tranquil cove-side residences boast custom-designed interiors with a spacious living room, king-sized bedroom, two dressing rooms, and a shared bathroom.
One-Bedroom Residence with Annex
Similar in size and amenities to the One-Bedroom Residence, this option includes an additional connected annex. Ideal for young children, support staff, or older children seeking some independence, the annex offers either twin beds or a king bed, along with one dressing room and a bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The annex and main bungalow are linked by an open-air deck and share the pool and outdoor living area, including an outdoor shower and an infinity pool.
Two-Bedroom Residence
Comprising two connected bungalows, each residence features custom-designed interiors, a spacious living room, a king-sized bedroom, two dressing rooms, and a shared bathroom.
Three-Bedroom Residence
This accommodation includes three separate bungalows, each with custom interiors, spacious living rooms, king-sized bedrooms, two dressing rooms, and two bathrooms. Two of the bungalows are linked by an open-air deck, while the third is accessible via a nearby footpath over white sand.
The Founding Residence
Comprising two connected bungalows, this unique residence offers bespoke interiors, spacious living areas, king-sized bedrooms, two dressing rooms, and a shared bathroom. It also provides exclusive views across the island’s southern peninsula, a larger private plot, and is adorned with a collection of pan-African antiques and art.
The standalone Natural Wellness Center (NWC) specializes in holistic healing, offering a wide range of wellness therapies including Ayurveda, meditation, yoga, energy and sound healing, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupressure, infrared Iyashi Dome therapy, fitness, and nutrition. All treatments are designed to harmonize the mind, body, and soul for an overall sense of well-being.
All dining experiences at Kisawa focus on showcasing the best of African and Mozambican flavors in a contemporary style. The resort works with a network of local farmers and fishermen, sourcing natural ingredients within a 300-kilometer radius. By Air: The closest airport is Vilankulo (VNX), with direct flights from Johannesburg (JNB) and Maputo (MPT). Private travel arrangements can also be made through VistaJet and XO.
By Helicopter: Shared helicopter charters from Vilankulo Airport to the sanctuary are available, with a flight time of approximately 5–10 minutes.
Activities for the Little Explorers
Kisawa celebrates families with a variety of children’s activities tailored to each guest's needs. Activities include mini-camping, rock fishing, arts and crafts, learning to paddleboard and kayak, shell hunting, and a PADI Bubble Maker Course.

Mel was fantastic but do your research!
Mel from Safari.com went above and beyond to ensure that our entire trip went smoothly. We visited both South Africa and Zimbabwe. We had a few hiccups along the way, as we were initially assigned another agent (who no longer works there) and unfortunately gave us high expectations and promises that weren’t fulfilled. She promised us a Ngala / Sabi safari type of experience in South Africa but booked us a lodge called Kusudalweni (which was no where near that type of experience! The service, food, location, and planned activities were all beyond disappointing. Would definitely avoid this place!!). Mel was not familiar with this lodge and unfortunately just followed along the previous agent. Mel tried her best to arrange another lodge and offer us other game drives but unfortunately the lodge was extremely difficult to deal with. Although, she organised the lodge in Zimbabwe and that was incredible! She was extremely responsive throughout our entire trip and ensured to contact our hotels, guides, etc. anytime we had a problem, it was such a relief to not have to worry about any of the hassle while we were there. My biggest recommendation is making sure to do your research about the lodges / hotels that are offered and see if they align with the type of “luxury” experience you are expecting. Mel was definitely great at ensuring we knew exactly what we were getting and I would definitely recommend requesting her specifically. Mel deserves a 5 star rating but unfortunately, due to the issues we had with the previous agent at this company, I had to give it an overall 4 star review.
