Stanley’s Camp is located in a private concession on the southern tip of Chief's Island in the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana - a region of startling contrasts with its mix of wetlands, forest, and dry savannah.
Set amidst shady ebony and sausage trees overlooking the perennial Boro River, Stanley’s Camp offers spectacular game viewing in an area rich with birdlife, wildlife, and scenic beauty. Stanley’s Camp prides itself on its impeccable service, luxurious accommodation, and decadent cuisine, creating an unforgettable African safari.
Stanley’s Camp features ten individually designed canvas safari tents, raised on wooden decking. The tents exude understated elegance and include an en-suite bathroom with a shower, fan, minibar, tea and coffee-making facilities, a lounge area, hairdryer, in-room safe, bathrobes, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a viewing deck.
The camp facilities include an expansive lounge, a dining area, a swimming pool, a gym, a bar, and a laundry service.
Expert guides accompany guests on early morning and late-afternoon game drives. Guided walking safaris provide opportunities to track and follow Okavango wildlife and explore the plants, birds, and habitats of this pristine wilderness. Tranquil mokoro trips offer a soothing way to view a multitude of water birds and pods of grunting hippos up close, while also providing a unique perspective of the plains wildlife from the water. The Living with Elephants activity is a must-do; this leisurely walk with two semi-habituated elephants is an extraordinarily enriching experience, giving guests a rare chance for personal interaction with these gentle giants.
Large numbers of plains game and predators can be found throughout the year. Following the recent introduction of rhinos to this concession, the area is now home to the famed Big Five. Predators include several lion prides, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and the rare and endangered wild dog. Large herds of elephants and buffalo frequently roam the area. Blue wildebeests, steenboks, giraffes, greater kudus, impalas, Burchell's zebras, and tsessebes are common, while the region's flood levels attract the much-sought-after water-dwelling antelope species, such as sitatunga and red lechwe. Additionally, the area harbors unexpected smaller gems, including frogs and neon-blue water lilies.
The region is home to over 400 species of birds, including the African fish eagle, Bateleur, crested and wattled cranes, black-tailed godwit, sacred ibis, green pigeon, and the rare and elusive Pel’s fishing owl.
Sanctuary Stanley's Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families seeking a luxurious safari getaway.

It was such a pleasure to deal with Pascal. He was very helpful in advising us on the best safari for our large group of 11. He organised both the safari and transport to and from Gondwana. Pascal was always contactable and promptly responded to all my questions. Can't thank him enough. We are all looking forward to our visit to South Africa.
