The Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, extending over 153 00 acres, is part of the largest conservation area in South Africa, and is the oldest of all the private reserves. The reserve borders the Kruger National Park, and with no fences between them, the game moves freely through this vast natural reserve.
Sabi Sands is known for its superior safari lodges and Big Five sightings with the diverse habitats assuring a wide diversity of game. The stone and thatch lodge is set along the Sand River, blending seamlessly into the rocky landscape to create a restful and relaxing retreat. Vast expanses of glass walls create a sense of space and light, and assure guests of views of the wildlife filled landscape from all angles,
The beautifully appointed Boulders Lodge offers discerning guests the quintessential African safari, accompanied by flawless personalised service.

"Boulders is a must visit for anyone wanting to experience the best that a safari can offer. The lodge, the food and wine, the staff, the game drives. All spectacular. The Boulders team (including Johan, Vusi, and Vivian) really does get everything right. We had a short stay, a "layover" day and a half, after our longer stay at the nearby Singita Castleton. Everyone had a smile upon our arrival. A cool towel and drink later, we were given a short tour of the facilities and then taken to our room. The lodge is built on a bluff overlooking a river. The style is rustic contemporary with organic lines. Highlights include the open air dining area overlooking the river; the open air lobby/lounge with fireplace and bar, also overlooking the river; and "boma" dining area. Winding, raised wood slat paths led from one area to the next. We opted for a garden "room"--really a villa: there was a foyer, living room with fireplace, bedroom, enormous bathroom, and patio with plunge pool and outdoor shower. Our room was decorated in the same rustic-contemporary-organic style as the rest of the lodge. Beautiful. Wall to ceiling windows looked out past our patio and pool to a watering hole. a pride of lions (later visitors included various kinds of antelope, a genet, some sort of dormouse, lots of birds, and water monitors). The villa was outfitted with everything you could want: snacks (chocolates, cookies, and nuts), drink (wine, water, soda, juice), watercolors and pencils, hairdryer, laundry basket, sunscreen, pool towels, soaps, etc. A large, comfortable bed had netting around it (although we had no insects during our late summer visit). Being the start of our honeymoon, our wedding flowers and champagne greeted us upon our arrival. The food and wine was amazingly delicious and over abundant. We were well catered for being vegetarian and vegan (complete with our own personalized printed menus). We had dinner at the "boma" one evening (complete with song and dance) and on our patio in-villa on evening (complete with mysterious shining eyes out by our water hole). The morning and afternoon game drives were fantastic: animals around every corner. Some highlights included watching lions stalk impalas, lion cubs, leopard in a tree with a carcass, lions with a carcass, mating leopards, a lounging cheetah, and an anti-climatic stand-off between a rhino and 13 lions. Each game drive had a break with drinks and snacks; the evening break was spent watching the sunset. The two of us shared our open top jeep with one other couple, the guide, and the tracker. The boutique, a short walk or drive from Boulders, is also not to be missed. Good quality art, artifacts, jewelry, textiles, clothing, wine from all over Africa. I found the prices to be very reasonable, at least in comparison to what I would pay for similar items back at home. The store can arrange shipping. In summary, a top-notch operation. If you're looking for the 5-star experience in the bush, look no further than Singita!"

"Stayed at singita boulders lodge in jan. The food, the staff, the room and the experience of the safari is out of the world. Managed to squeeze in a massage which was divine. Singita is now my number 1 destination. It is really an experience to a different level. The attention to details is spectacular. Each lodge comes with a river view where u can see elephants roaming around and many other games. Been to artic circle, Alaska, n Maldives but this is really out of the world."

"From the moment you arrive the service/friendliness shown by the staff is some of the best I have known. The rooms are truly stunning with virtually one side glass. Although the stand alone bath and the indoor shower were fantastic, we tended to use the outdoor shower the most. The swimming pool is the least used thing on the property as everyone uses their own plunge pool and sun loungers. The cellar is a real surprise with its natural boulders and huge variety of wines, the only downside I can think is that you do share your evening meal with moths & bugs, but I suppose that's to be expected in the wild. The guides were brilliant they make sure you see everything you possibly can, I mentioned I had not seen a cheater or wild dogs, that morning they managed to find both."

"My first game lodge on my trip to Africa, and also my favorite. The view out the front terrace was remarkable. The food was great, and I enjoyed both a BOMA (barbecue) and restaurant experience for dinner, as well as there being very nice breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea options throughout the day. The rooms were modern and offered many helpful items, like bug spray and animal guides. The beds were very comfortable, equipped with mosquito nets and electric blankets. The hotel felt very safe and although the occasional monkey would jump down and try to steal some food, most quietly observed from the roof. The safaris were great, not only because of the animals(which were great and plentiful, my group saw the BIg 5 in a grand total of 2 days on safari) but also because of the wonderful guides. Unlike other safari camps I visited in Botswana which required a guide to provide information, track animals, and drive all by him/herself, Singita allowed both a guide and a tracker on the vehicle. Our guide, Joh Martin, was fantastic and deserves a special shout-out. And our tracker, Peter, was remarkable and could identify an animal track when all I saw a clump of dirt. We also took a walking tour with our guide, which was great and we learned a lot. Overall, a fantastic safari experience."

"Yes! This place is as amazing as the other reviewers have described. I just have a couple additional notes that were specific to our visit: 1. I do not eat red meat, which sometimes makes menus tough for me. They knew my food preferences before my arrival, and had planned out daily menus each day just for me. They even put my name on my personal menu! This is a huge treat for a picky eater to have so many options just for me! 2. On the last night of our honeymoon, they whisked us off to the airstrip for a private dinner, just me, my hubby, and the chef. Amazing! 3. If you ask the sommelier for a private tasting, she will let you pretty much taste anything in the cellar and the make sure you get your favorite at dinner that night."

"If you are looking for a first rate safari experience, along with luxury accommodations and service, then this is your place. And I've only stayed in this one Singita property but I am guessing that they are all equally spectacular."

"There are few resort destinations where you cannot find at least one thing you might suggest they could improve. We tried here and came up empty. Nada. Zip. We saw all the requisite wild animals but with exceptionally knowledgeable guide Michelle Campbell and master tracker Penuel, the experience was so much more. We fell in love with termites!! We went nuts for horn boring moths. At Singita/Boulders they anticipate your needs. Our entire family spent (5 people, three villas) four nights and experienced 8 bush rides. We were celebrating my and my wife's 65th birthdays and wanted to create a family memory. We succeeded, with a world class experience. River cocktail party. Private birthday dinner. GO!"

"Singita Boulders is a retreat that must be experienced. The design and accommodations are truly opulent. The food and drink are top notch and the service is unobtrusively perfect. It is deep in the bush in Sabi Sand reserve but the twice daily game drives become almost secondary to the camp itself. Highly recommended."

"Exceeded my expectations by far. No expense was spared at this private game reserve. The trackers and guides were remarkable. I don't know if we just got lucky, or we had the best team, but we saw the big five plus many other animals within 36 hours. The food was fabulous. Something unique at every meal. Wine selections were paired perfectly. I would return in a heartbeat. I did not want this trip to end."

"My wife and I just finished a stay at this amazing property. From the time we arrived until we left we loved everything about it. The staff, food, activities, and location are all fantastic. We can't say enough about the staff. Everyone made us feel special. If you are planning a trip to South Africa, you owe it to yourself to take a look at Singita Boulders Lodge."
