Your African journey begins with a four-day safari in Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe is a malaria-free reserve, and although it is one of the lesser-known parks in South Africa, it is regarded as one of the best conservation areas in Africa. During your stay at the luxurious Madikwe Safari Lodge, morning and afternoon game drives will offer the privilege of possibly seeing the Big 5 and the highly endangered African Wild Dog, who thrive in this spectacular reserve.

After some phenomenal game viewing, Cape Town, or better known as the “Mother City” of South Africa, welcomes you. In the heart of the city and surrounded by vibrant restaurants and cafes, the stylish Cape Cadogan will be your haven.

Cape Town is uniquely different, with something to offer each person who visits. Enjoy a bird’s eye view from the top of Table Mountain to the sweeping vineyard valleys of the Cape Winelands. Experience diving with great white sharks or the breathtaking scenery of the Cape Peninsula.

If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, include a visit to the cobbled streets of Bo Kaap in Cape Town, with its brightly coloured 17th-century houses. Try kayaking in the naval port of Simons Town, meet local South Africans and indulge in traditional dishes, or visit a township where you're sure to meet some inspiring people and learn how to cook an African meal.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 4: Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa

South Africa welcomes you as you arrive at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport. You will be met and taken to a nearby hangar where you will take a short charter flight to Madikwe Game Reserve. After settling into your beautifully appointed suite and meeting with your professional guide, you head out on your first exhilarating afternoon game drive. With approximately three and a half hours of off-road game driving and a sundowner experience, you head back to the lodge for an evening of outdoor dining.

The next two days offer thrilling game drives, with morning and afternoon options as well as the choice of bush walks and family drives after breakfast. Bush walks provide a unique experience as your senses are heightened with every twig snapping and the distinct smell of the plants and trees. In between safari activities, you are welcome to relax in your suite or out on the expansive deck that overlooks the reserve.

Day 5 - 6: Cape Town, South Africa

After your final morning game drive and a heart-warming breakfast, you will transfer to the airstrip and travel back to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will check in for your scheduled flight to Cape Town. Once in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you may be able to scale Table Mountain or explore the V&A Waterfront. You will have a full day tomorrow to explore the “Mother City”.

Day 7: Depart Cape Town

Your journey in South Africa comes to an end as you transfer back to Cape Town International Airport to begin your travel back home. Should you wish to stay longer in Cape Town, please contact us for a variety of extension options.
