The Details
Location
Compass House sits on the cliffside heights of Kloof Road in Bantry Bay, one of Cape Town's most sought-after seaside suburbs. The Atlantic fills the view from every room, and sunsets over the ocean are the daily set piece.
The white-sand beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay are a short drive down the coast, the V&A Waterfront and Cape Town city centre are around ten minutes away, and the Constantia and Stellenbosch winelands are within easy reach for day trips.
Accommodation
The hotel has nine rooms across five categories: Suite, Junior Suite, Luxe, Standard and the Cottage. Every room faces the sea, and most open onto a private terrace or veranda overlooking the pool and Bantry Bay.
Interiors are custom-designed with a residential feel, mixing contemporary styling with warm textures. The Luxe rooms feature super king beds and marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, while the Cottage has a four-poster bed and a private patio with a full 180-degree ocean vista.
Dining
A daily breakfast is served to guests as part of the rate, either on the terrace overlooking the pool or in the dining room. The concierge team arranges reservations at Cape Town's restaurants, from the seafood spots along Camps Bay to the fine-dining rooms at the V&A Waterfront and in the winelands.
Activities
The concierge builds custom itineraries covering Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape Point, the Cape Peninsula drive and winelands tastings in Constantia, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Days at the hotel revolve around the 65-foot pool and sun terrace, with the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay a short walk or drive away.

A closer look.
"Jolene was simply extraordinary. She put together what became an absolutely incredible African trip for us in the space of barely three weeks, and from the outset her responsiveness, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, responses were almost immediate, and she very quickly understood exactly what we were looking for, our expectations and the way we like to travel. More than simply being an expert at what she does, Jolene genuinely cared about making the trip special for us, and that came through in every aspect of her planning. What particularly impressed us was the flexibility with which she brought everything together. We already had some of our own arrangements in place, including international flights and staying with friends in Cape Town, but Jolene seamlessly incorporated those into the overall itinerary and still organised all the surrounding logistics and transfers. The safari component she designed was outstanding, taking us through Kruger, Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta, before finishing in Cape Town and the Stellenbosch wine region. Every part flowed beautifully and the lodges, experiences and logistics were exceptional. Just as importantly, Jolene stayed in contact throughout the trip at all the key moments, which made travelling so much easier. She would check us in for our internal flights and send through the boarding passes, confirm transfers the day before each pick-up, and make sure everything was in place before we ever had to think about it. That attention to detail, and the fact that she was always one step ahead, removed so much of the usual travel stress and allowed us simply to enjoy the trip. It was genuinely the trip of a lifetime, put together in an extraordinarily short timeframe, and Jolene deserves enormous credit for making it all happen. We could not recommend her highly enough."
