The Details

Location

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa sits on the lush banks of the Zambezi River, six miles upstream of Victoria Falls. The lodge is set within Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, so guests can expect resident wildlife on the grounds and rhino sightings within the reserve.

The location places guests within easy reach of the full Victoria Falls activity menu: helicopter flights over the gorge, the Devil's Pool swim on the Zambian side, and day trips across the bridge to view the Falls from Zimbabwe.

Rooms

The lodge has 72 Deluxe River View Rooms and five Signature Suites, all with en-suite facilities and views over the Zambezi. Six of the Deluxe rooms inter-lead for families travelling together, and two are designed for guests with reduced mobility.

Rooms are appointed in a restrained safari style with mosquito nets, air conditioning and private terraces or balconies facing the river.

Dining

Kalai, the lodge's signature restaurant, serves Afro-Arabian fusion cuisine in a traditional Zambian setting overlooking the river. Locally sourced ingredients feature throughout the menu, with game dishes such as kudu roast among the house specialities.

A terrace bar offers lighter meals and handcrafted cocktails through the day, and the infinity pool deck is a favoured spot for sundowners as the light drops over the Zambezi.

Activities

The Lady Livingstone, the lodge's exclusive river cruise, offers a signature sundowner experience on the Zambezi with drinks and canapés on board. The on-site spa provides a full menu of restorative treatments delivered by resident therapists.

The Wild Horizons activity desk in the lobby arranges Victoria Falls excursions, helicopter flights, white-water rafting, the Devil's Pool swim and game drives within Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, where rhino tracking is a particular draw.
