The Details
The Lodge
The camp has been artfully designed to harmonise with the local ecosystem. The elevated wooden boardwalks serve a dual purpose: they protect the delicate forest floor and allow animals—ranging from antelope to leopards—to pass through the camp unhindered. This enables guests to observe the rhythm of the bush safely from a superior vantage point.
The lodge is anchored by two magnificent communal spaces:
- The Zambezi Deck: The social heart of the lodge. This area hosts the main dining room and high tea service. From the swimming pool or the lounge, guests can watch elephants and buffalo crossing the river to the islands.
- The Mushika Deck: Situated at the far end of the boardwalk, this deck offers a quieter, more secluded atmosphere. It overlooks a popular watering hole and the Mushika River floodplain, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and observing the resident baboon troop.
Accommodation
Dulini Anabezi blends modern sophistication with authentic African luxury across twelve magnificent tented suites. Each suite is positioned to maximise privacy and offers sweeping views of the Zambezi River, the floodplains, or the Kulefu Channel.
- The Suites: Guests may choose between king or twin configurations. Each room opens onto a spacious wooden deck featuring a private plunge pool—the perfect spot to watch buffalo graze as you cool off.
- Bathrooms: Each tent boasts an elegant indoor en-suite bathroom with a Victorian-style bathtub, complemented by an outdoor bathroom and shower for a true ‘under the stars’ experience.
- The Family Tent: Designed for those travelling together, this unit comprises two interconnected rooms (one king, one twin) sharing a large viewing deck and plunge pool.
Dining
Culinary life at Anabezi revolves around the elements. Mornings begin with breakfast overlooking the river, while High Tea on the Zambezi Deck serves as a sophisticated precursor to the afternoon’s activities. As night falls, the campfire becomes the focal point; guests gather for sundowners to share the day’s stories before enjoying dinner under the Zambian sky.
Wildlife and Activities
Dulini Anabezi offers a comprehensive safari programme that explores the Zambezi Valley by both land and water.
By Land
- Game Drives: Conducted in customised open vehicles during the early morning and late afternoon when predators are most active. Expect to see lions, leopards, African painted dogs, and vast herds of buffalo.
- Walking Safaris: Experience the bush on foot in the very place the walking safari was pioneered. Accompanied by a professional guide and an armed National Parks Wildlife Officer, you will discover the intricate details of the ecosystem often missed from a vehicle.
- Night Drives: A thrilling glimpse into the nocturnal world, providing the chance to spot civets, genets, and hunting cats under the stars.
- Photographic Safaris: The lodge provides modified vehicles and beanbags for photographers, ensuring the perfect angle for every shot in the shifting forest light.
By Water
- Canoeing: Drift silently down the park’s channels with a certified guide, passing hippos and watching elephants drink from the banks.
- Water Safaris: Our custom-fitted pontoon boats provide a stable platform for viewing crocodiles and aquatic birds at eye level.
- Fishing: The Zambezi is famed for the Tigerfish. Seasoned coxswains guide both novices and experts in pursuit of this legendary fighter (rods and tackle are provided for lure fishing).

A closer look.
"After a year of planning with Safari.com, Luxury Safari Consultant - Leighann Croeser, our long wait was greatly rewarded. In September 2025, we spent 21 extraordinary days in South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Our plan was to start in Cape Town, go to Zulu Nyala and then another safari in Kruger. With expertise guidance from Leighann Croeser, we added in Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls, Panoramic Route, and Johannesburg. These additions to our trip, greatly enhanced our FIRST African vacation, adding incredible sites, knowledgeable tours and beautiful accommodations. Our visit to Cape Town was all arranged by Leighann. She gave us hotel choices based on what we wanted to do. We choose the Winchester Hotel. A beautiful location with the popular walking path going around the bay, a delicious restaurant on property, and wonderful rooms with views. We loved the courtyard! We had a wonderful driver, David, for three day who arranged our visit to the Apartheid Museum, Atlas Spice Shop, Table Mountain, Stellenbosch wineries, Cape of Good Hope, and penguins! After four fun filled days, we headed up to Zulu Nylan Safari Lodge for 6 nights, Johannesburg -1 night so we could drive the Panoramic Route staying at Angles View Hotel, Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge – 3 nights and finally Victoria Falls – 4 nights with a both sides tour of Victoria Falls and the Steam Train Dinner. Here is our big note: Flying and driving around to each of these locations takes incredible experience and planning for your trip. Trying to navigation these websites in America was difficult. We can’t tell you how important it is to have someone in Africa to handles these domestic flights, hotels reservations and drivers. Leighann booked all of our interior airline flights, checked us in for every flight, and drivers for every flight. We had a weather delay in Richard’s Bay. Our flight to Johannesburg was delayed 5 hours. Leighann called our hotel - DaVinci, the restaurant we booked for that night (Alto234) and the driver. Upon arrival, we were promptly met by our driver and taken to this beautiful hotel downtown Johannesburg. A little late to dinner but the most incredible evening at the top of Alto234 Bar with endless views. Leighann Croeser is an amazing, highly experience travel consultant for “all of Africa”. We can’t say enough good words about her. She enhanced our visit to an unexpected level of service, a can-do attitude with a grace we have never experienced! When you’re so far away in country, like Africa, you want our Luxury Safari Consultant - Leighann Croeser as your travel adviser!"
