Experiences
Africa, by the kind of trip.
Big 5 safaris, gorilla trekking, honeymoons, the Great Migration. The kinds of trips we plan most often, and the country combinations we recommend for each.
Child-friendly safaris
The lodges our safari specialists trust with young children, whether you want them looked after while you take a breather, or joining every game drive.
Horseback safaris
Lodges with a structured horseback programme. Curated by our specialists from properties offering genuine riding among wildlife.
Luxury Rail Journeys
Incorporating a great train journey into your travel itinerary adds a unique perspective to your vacation. With some of the best-escorted rail tours in the world, traveling by train in Southern Africa has become a firm favorite in recent years. Rail passage to game reserves, through Winelands, to historic sites and across the wide-open countryside of the Karoo region, creates an extraordinary travel experience.
Hot Air Ballooning Tours & Safaris
Floating above it all in a hot-air balloon gives you the best take on the expanse of wildlife areas in Southern & East Africa. What amazes most first-time balloonists is the absolute stillness: the silence as you float above the scenic plains, desert dunes, forests, and rivers in Africa. Even if youโve flown elsewhere, this is a unique experience. Balloon flights last an hour or so, drifting wherever the air currents take you, and with ample opportunities for photography and video filming. In the time-honored tradition of balloon flights the world over, you toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast. Most Balloon Safaris end with some leisurely game viewing on the way back to your lodge or camp. With our in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience of Southern and East Africa, weโre able to custom-make a safari, with all the added adventures and activities, to suit your individual preferences and budget. Let's start planning!

Gorilla & Chimp Trekking
Another truly unique experience in Africa is the ability to get up close and personal with natures largest living primates - the Gorillas of Uganda and Rwanda. Professional guides take you into the forests and ensure protocols for safety without compromising the raw energy and thrill of the experience. Below are some of the packaged safaris and lodges that allow you to take part in this riveting phenomonen.
Great Migration
The Great Migration is an ecological marvel. Each year, nearly 2 million animals - predominantly zebra, wildebeest and gazelle - move between the Serengeti in Tanzania, and the Masai Mara in Kenya. The picture is reminiscent of a scene from the Jungle Book. Open plains filled with vast number of animals in every direction.
Big 5 Safaris
The most common reason anyone comes on a real African Safari, is to see the Big 5 - Elephants, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and African Buffalo. They are the "Coca Cola" of safari wildlife. Seeing them in their natural habitat - as opposed to a theme park or a zoo - is what makes safaris in Africa so special. While fairly common throughout parks and game reserves in Africa, there are certain regions where they abound, and below are some of the places one is almost guaranteed to see all 5, perhaps even in a day!
