WHEN
Damaraland has a desert climate which makes it a great year-round destination. The best time to spot the desert-adapted wildlife is during the long dry winter season, May - October. With rain virtually absent, the wildlife will congregate around the limited water sources. Clear skies during this season makes for excellent stargazing. From November to April, it is the wet summer season. There will be greener and more vibrant landscapes, this provides a better time for birdwatching.
WHERE
Set in some of Namibia’s most iconic landscapes, the lodges in Damaraland are as famous for their views and comfort. Most accommodation are eco-sensitive tented camps, usually in private reserves.

Damaraland hat ein Wüstenklima und ist damit ein ausgezeichnetes Ziel für das ganze Jahr. Die beste Zeit, um die wüstenangepassten Tiere zu beobachten, ist die lange, trockene Wintersaison von Mai bis Oktober. Da Regen praktisch ausbleibt, sammeln sich die Tiere an den wenigen Wasserstellen. Der klare Himmel dieser Jahreszeit eignet sich hervorragend für Sternenbeobachtung. Von November bis April herrscht die feuchte Sommersaison. Die Landschaft ist grüner und lebendiger, und die Zeit eignet sich besser für die Vogelbeobachtung.

Le Damaraland bénéficie d'un climat désertique qui en fait une destination idéale toute l'année. La meilleure période pour observer la faune adaptée au désert est la longue saison sèche d'hiver, de mai à octobre. Les pluies étant quasi absentes, les animaux se rassemblent autour des rares points d'eau. La limpidité du ciel durant cette saison offre une observation des étoiles remarquable. De novembre à avril s'étend la saison humide d'été. Les paysages se font plus verdoyants et plus éclatants, ce qui constitue une période plus propice à l'observation des oiseaux.

Installés dans certains des paysages les plus emblématiques de Namibie, les lodges du Damaraland sont aussi réputés pour leurs vues que pour leur confort. La plupart des hébergements sont des camps de toile respectueux de l'environnement, généralement situés dans des réserves privées.
