The Details
Location
The camp sits in a private rhino reserve in Laikipia, in central Kenya, with views across to Mount Kenya. The reserve forms part of one of the most important rhino conservation areas in East Africa, with resident black and white rhino alongside the usual Laikipia cast of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and plains game.
Guests fly into Wilson Airport in Nairobi, where the camp's team handles meet and greet and luggage, then connect by light aircraft to Nanyuki Airstrip for the final transfer.
Rooms
Accommodation is in tented suites, each with a private plunge pool, outdoor deck and Jani botanical bath amenities. Rooms come with a complimentary minibar, Wi-Fi and a set of in-suite safari accessories, plus a rotating nightly turndown programme that changes through the stay.
Dining
Mavuno is the main restaurant, serving full-board breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen pulls from the JW Garden for juices and herbs, runs a dedicated coffee ritual and curated tea programme, and includes house wines with dinner. Each stay also includes a sundowner and a bush breakfast out in the reserve.
Activities
Two shared game drives run daily with refreshments, led by guides rated by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association. Every stay includes one night drive and one bush breakfast. Beyond the vehicles, guests can join guided bicycle safaris and nature walks within the reserve, book sessions with the in-house photographer under the Canon Camera Experience, or use the outdoor pool, gym, yoga offering and shared social spaces around the camp.
