The Details
Location
Kwara Camp is set on a forested island at the heart of the Okavango Delta, inside the Kwara Private Concession (NG20) in the southern reaches of the reserve. The concession covers roughly 432,000 acres and shares a 19-mile water boundary with the northern edge of Moremi Game Reserve, with permanent water that keeps boating and mokoro activities running year-round.
Kwara airstrip is about a 10-minute drive from camp. Light aircraft transfers run roughly 30 minutes from Maun and 80 minutes from Kasane, with helicopter transfers also available.
Rooms
The unfenced camp wraps around a lagoon frequented by red lechwe, hippo and elephant, with a fireplace in the sand at its heart where breakfast and evening drinks are served. Kwara South has 4 tents and Kwara North has 5 tents plus 1 pilot tent, giving 9 suites in total. There are no family rooms and guests must be 18 or over.
Each suite has a private viewing deck with outside seating, a spacious lounge with armchairs, ceiling fan, writing desk and international charging station, plus a reference library, two yoga mats and a tea and coffee station. The en-suite bathroom has indoor and outdoor showers, a ball-and-claw bathtub, double vanity basins and a flushing toilet, with over-bed air conditioning running during daylight hours.
Dining
Meals are served in the open-sided dining, lounge and bar areas under canvas, with a small reference library at hand and a firepit in the sand for evening drinks. The reborn camp has stepped up the menu and added premium drinks while keeping the relaxed bush-camp feel. Two separate swimming pool areas each have their own bathroom, coffee station and stocked bar for added privacy.
Activities
Activities cap at four guests per vehicle or boat. Game drives, off-road tracking and night drives run through the private concession, while motorboat cruises, mokoro outings, catch-and-release fishing and guided nature walks take in the Delta's waterways. Seasonal visits to the Godikwe heronry are a highlight for birders, and helicopter safaris can be arranged on request.

"Booked an 11-day tour starting and finishing in Johannesburg and including Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta. The service from Cearl was very professional with numerous options discussed before settling on the final version. Prices seemed to be very reasonable."
