The Details
Kwena Luxury Suites sit within Gondwana Private Game Reserve on South Africa's Garden Route, a malaria-free Big Five reserve set against the Outeniqua Mountains. The suites are designed as a romantic retreat for couples, with each unit standing alone and screened for privacy.
The setting blends fynbos, open plains and mountain views, giving guests a change of pace from bushveld safari country while keeping the classic game-drive rhythm of morning and afternoon outings.
Accommodation
Four stand-alone suites of 75 sq m each, open-plan under a double-volume thatch roof with mountain views. Four of the suites can be configured with either a king bed or twin beds. Rooms come with cotton percale linen, bathrobes, non-allergenic pillows, a hairdryer, tea station, bar fridge, in-room safe, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms feature a double indoor and outdoor rain shower, deep bath with picture window, double basins and a separate toilet. An indoor seating area sits by the fireplace, and a private covered patio with a double lounger opens onto the sun deck. Housekeeping runs twice daily with turn-down service.
Dining
Guests dine in the main Kwena Lodge, which has multiple indoor dining areas alongside an elegant bar and lounge. The full-board package covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Private dining can be arranged for couples.
Activities
Two game drives daily on the reserve, tracking Big Five sightings with Gondwana's field guides. Additional experiences available on the reserve include guided fynbos bush walks, Bokkie drives, a spa, and access to Garden Route attractions beyond the gates.
