Villa 16 is Fanjove Private Island's singular hideaway, tucked between coral outcrops on a remote Tanzanian island south of Zanzibar. Neither Coral Villa nor Beach Villa, it opens onto a private stretch of sand that appears from April to December, with a two-level terrace and easy reach of the spa, restaurant and gym.

The Details
Location
Fanjove Private Island sits off the southern Tanzanian coast, well south of Zanzibar and reached by light aircraft and short road transfer. Villa 16 occupies its own pocket of the island, wedged between coral rocks that shelter it from the wind for most of the year.
The setting is genuinely singular. It isn't a Coral Villa and it isn't a Beach Villa. Depending on the tides, it manages to be both at once, with a small strand of soft sand appearing beneath the terrace from April to December.
Accommodation
The villa's architecture, décor and amenities mirror those of the Beach Villas, but the two-level terrace and coral-rock setting give it a character no other unit shares. It is a favourite of couples on honeymoon and anyone looking for an intimate retreat away from the rest of the island.
Each villa is fitted with organic cotton satin bed linen, organic cotton bathrobes, organic bathroom amenities, hair dryer, safe, WiFi, mini bar and espresso machine, integrated wall fans, and several USB charging points. Beach baskets, hats and fouta towels are provided.
Dining
The island restaurant is a short walk away. Full board covers all meals and drinks, including premium brand spirits. Champagne is the only exclusion.
Activities
The rate includes two activities per day. At low tide, guests can walk directly from the villa's beach across to the island's lighthouse and main beach. The spa and gym are within easy reach without compromising the villa's seclusion.
