Location

Lidiko Lodge sits in the village of St Lucia in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, perched on a coastal dune above the Great St Lucia Lake. The lodge is on the doorstep of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, South Africa's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and within easy reach of Hluhluwe-iMfolozi and other Big Five reserves of northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Accommodation

The property has 16 garden rooms in total: 12 Double and Twin Garden Rooms at around 36 square metres each, two Family Rooms at 40 square metres sleeping up to four, and one 48 square metre Family Unit sleeping a family of four. All rooms are en-suite and face either the pool or the park-like gardens. On-site parking and complimentary Wi-Fi are available.

Dining

Lidiko is run on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast is served on a dining deck overlooking the gardens, which are alive with birdlife, vervet monkeys and mongooses. A short stroll into St Lucia village brings guests to a wide choice of restaurants and cafes for lunch and dinner.

Wildlife and Activities

St Lucia is positioned where the Big Five of the ocean meet the Big Five of the bush. Guests can join organised day trips into iSimangaliso Wetland Park for game drives, estuary boat cruises to see hippo and crocodile, turtle tracking in season, whale watching off Cape Vidal, snorkelling at Mission Rocks, and birding across the wetlands. Full-day safaris into Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve offer Big Five viewing. The lodge is also a safe base for joggers, cyclists and walkers exploring the village and its surrounds.
