The Details
Location
Linyanti Ebony sits within the private Linyanti Concession on the edge of Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. The surrounding Linyanti Wetlands form a paradise of reed and papyrus-lined waterways, drawing the large herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra for which the region is famous.
Set on raised decking with open views across the wetlands, the camp blends into its setting through organic materials, warm wooden finishes, stone detailing and natural textiles.
Rooms
Accommodation comprises three luxury tented suites and one luxury family tented suite. Each suite features a king-size bed, indoor and outdoor showers and a writing desk. The two-bedroom family unit adds a self-contained lounge, a freestanding bath and a private viewing deck over the wetlands. Larger groups can book the camp on an exclusive-use basis from a minimum of eight guests.
Dining
Meals are taken in the generous central lounge and dining area or outside around the firepit beneath the night sky. The setting is relaxed and family-orientated, designed for guests to share stories from the day's safari.
Activities
Daily game drives, night drives and guided walking safaris explore the Linyanti Concession, where sightings regularly include elephant, buffalo, lion and wild dog. Traditional mokoro safaris led by local polers glide through the shallow waterways, and doors-off helicopter flights offer an aerial perspective of Chobe.
Birding is a particular strength, with the Chobe River supporting both resident and migratory species. The Ngwana Club tailors safari activities, crafts and bush skills for younger guests, making the camp a strong fit for families.

Long stay
Linyanti Ebony features in African Bush Camps' multi-camp itineraries as the child-friendly alternative to Linyanti Bush Camp, with savings of around 27 to 30 per cent against the combined value of the individual camp stays. The six-night Discover Botswana journey pairs Linyanti with Khwai, while the nine-night Luxury Okavango adds the Okavango Delta and the nine-night Magic of Three Countries continues into Zambia and Zimbabwe; the two Magic of Three Countries itineraries are not available in Emerald Season, 1 January to 31 March and 1 to 31 December. All itineraries include accommodation, meals and beverages, the conservation and community levy, scheduled inter-camp air transfers, road transfers from the airstrips, laundry and twice-daily shared safari activities, with the exact rate confirmed at the time of booking when the family substitution is applied.
Family
Linyanti Ebony welcomes children of all ages and has one luxury family tented suite along with the Ngwana Club programme of safari activities for younger guests. Children from birth to six years stay free of charge, while those aged 7 to 15 are charged at 50 per cent of the adult rate, with a reduced conservation and community levy for ages 7 to 15 and no levy below the age of seven. "Jolene was simply extraordinary. She put together what became an absolutely incredible African trip for us in the space of barely three weeks, and from the outset her responsiveness, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, responses were almost immediate, and she very quickly understood exactly what we were looking for, our expectations and the way we like to travel. More than simply being an expert at what she does, Jolene genuinely cared about making the trip special for us, and that came through in every aspect of her planning. What particularly impressed us was the flexibility with which she brought everything together. We already had some of our own arrangements in place, including international flights and staying with friends in Cape Town, but Jolene seamlessly incorporated those into the overall itinerary and still organised all the surrounding logistics and transfers. The safari component she designed was outstanding, taking us through Kruger, Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta, before finishing in Cape Town and the Stellenbosch wine region. Every part flowed beautifully and the lodges, experiences and logistics were exceptional. Just as importantly, Jolene stayed in contact throughout the trip at all the key moments, which made travelling so much easier. She would check us in for our internal flights and send through the boarding passes, confirm transfers the day before each pick-up, and make sure everything was in place before we ever had to think about it. That attention to detail, and the fact that she was always one step ahead, removed so much of the usual travel stress and allowed us simply to enjoy the trip. It was genuinely the trip of a lifetime, put together in an extraordinarily short timeframe, and Jolene deserves enormous credit for making it all happen. We could not recommend her highly enough."
