Positioned in the south-western corner of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, lies the 6 000 hectare Jock of the Bushveld Concession area. Fitzpatrick’s Lodge is just a kilometer away from the main Jock Safari Lodge and depicts an intimate atmosphere that's ideally suited to families or small groups.
In the late 19th century, the allure of gold attracted people from all corners of the world to South Africa. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, the author of the animal classic *Jock of the Bushveld*, was one of these pioneers. The lodge, named after this charismatic author, offers privacy, exclusivity, personalized service, and an authentic safari experience in a pristine wilderness.
Fitzpatrick's Lodge features three opulent suites, each equipped with a king-size bed or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower, air conditioning, a minibar, a hairdryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, an in-room safe, an overhead fan, and a private viewing deck. Two of the suites can accommodate a maximum of two adults and two children per room. The lodge can host a total of six adults and four children.
The lodge is available for exclusive booking, complete with the services of a personal chef and game ranger. Menus are tailored to meet your specific preferences.
Fitzpatrick's Lodge also offers exceptional facilities, including a rock swimming pool, a lounge with television and a library, a second lounge with a fireplace, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a tea and espresso machine.
The Kruger National Park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including the famous Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Other species commonly seen include giraffes, cheetahs, African civets, wild dogs, hippos, hyenas, jackals, and a variety of antelope. Bird watchers will be delighted to know that the Kruger is a birding paradise, with over 400 bird species recorded, including the lilac-breasted roller, African hoopoe, grey heron, and kingfisher.
Guests can enjoy a range of activities at the lodge, including early morning and late afternoon open-vehicle game drives led by professional guides. For those who want to explore on foot, guided bush walks provide insights into the fauna, flora, and smaller creatures of the African bush. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at the nearby Leopard Creek golf course (for an additional cost), while guests seeking relaxation can indulge in spa treatments offered at the Pilgrims Rest Retreat located at Jock Safari Lodge.

Dolan was terrific. He got back to us immediately to answer all of our questions. And was so nice to hold a room for a couple of days because of my moms passing. It gave us time to finalize her arrangements and time to book our trip. I would highly recommend using him to book your trip!!

Leigh-Ann from Safari.com was great to work with to plan our group safari trip. She was able to get me on the priority waitlist for a lodge that I liked, which ended up working out for our group during my preferred dates. Leigh-Ann was responsive and provided various tour recommendations for us to decide on the best option for us. There were a few email and name typos from Leigh-Ann that I had to correct, but other than that, I had a great experience.

Went through Newmarket travel and Hays…
Went through Newmarket travel and Hays travel ..information about flight changes hard to get..but on arrival the holiday was taken over Safari.com..amazing ..experience everything was fine tuned and the staff ..guides drivers fabulous and friendly ..lots of knowledge..lots of fun and the surprises they did was so lovely ...loved every minute ..Paris our guide was amazing..10/10 and Eric driver ..the waiters and waitress every and everyone in the hotels .smiling and friendly..Best holiday of my life
