You Should Know
- We regret that no children under the age of 12 can be accommodated at Plains Camp unless a family or group has booked exclusive use of the camp.
- Children aged 12 years or older are charged adult rates at Plains Camp.
- As triples are not available at Plains Camp, a third child would require their own room at the adult rate plus a single supplement.
The Details
Plains Camp is not only distinctive in its design—with only four East African Safari-style tents—but also in the way things are done. It is an established trail with walks of up to four hours, allowing you to immerse your senses in a hands-on experience, not just a mid-morning stroll after breakfast.
What sets it apart is the combination of the wealth of knowledge and experience of the camp's highly qualified trail guides, the unique elegance of the furnishings and treasured antiques, the quality of food and service, and the presence of a cool plunge pool in which to enjoy a cocktail overlooking the plain between walks.
And for those looking for something extra special, there is the added attraction of an optional night spent out under the stars at the sleep-out decks, under the care of a qualified guide. Price Includes
The price includes accommodation, meals (brunch, high tea, and dinner), teas and coffees, and two activities per day. Each guest will receive a complimentary glass of wine, local beer, cider, or soft drink during the late afternoon/evening game drive.
Transfers between Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Plains Camp at scheduled times are also included. Plains Camp @ Rhino Walking Safaris offers morning and afternoon walk/game drive experiences (for guests aged 12 years and older).

Last minute
Short-notice bookings at Plains Camp may qualify for last-minute rates, with savings of about one third rising to just under half the standard rate the closer the booking is to arrival, for stays until 30 June 2027. A minimum of two guests and two nights applies. The rates are not available over the Easter weekend or the festive season (20 December to 10 January), and they are subject to availability and may change.
Long stay
The Trail Package combines Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Plains Camp at a single package rate per person sharing, available until 31 December 2027. You can choose 3 nights (1 at Rhino Post and 2 at Plains Camp), 4 nights (2 and 2) or 5 nights (2 and 3). The package includes all meals, two activities a day (game drives at Rhino Post and guided bush walks at Plains Camp), a sundowner drink each evening and scheduled transfers between the camps. It is for guests aged 12 and older, and Kruger conservation fees are not included. A 30% single supplement applies, and guests must reach Rhino Post by 13h00 on their first day. Plains Camp also features in multi-lodge journeys with Victoria Falls and Chundu Island on the Zambezi, priced per person for the whole itinerary and valid until 30 June 2027.
