The Detail

The gorgeous 42-meter, 5-star Zambezi Queen is located on the great Chobe River and is a luxury houseboat offering a unique safari experience in one of Africa's most remote locations. Guests can look forward to unparalleled game viewing in complete comfort and elegance.

The Zambezi Queen boasts 14 luxurious suites—ten Standard Suites and four slightly larger Master Suites. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, full-length sliding shutters, hairdryers, bathroom amenities, bathrobes, slippers, an in-room safe, air conditioning, a fan, and outer decks where you can soak up the sights and sounds of the surrounding African bush.

While both types of suites let you relax in a luxurious setting, the Master Suites are slightly bigger and have larger balconies with two deckchairs and a table. The Master Suites also feature both side and front sliding doors for a truly panoramic view of your surroundings.

The facilities offered onboard the Zambezi Queen include a boarding area, reception, curio shop, smoking area, lounge, dining room, and a pool deck with a swimming pool.

There is no specific best or worst time to visit the Chobe area, as every month offers visitors something special. However, if guests are looking for a pure wildlife experience, the drier winter months from June to August see greater concentrations of game along the banks of the Chobe River. The summer months from November to May offer an explosion of birdlife, with the addition of migratory birds in the area.

The Chobe National Park boasts one of the densest populations of elephants on the African continent, estimated at approximately 120,000. The park is also home to a large number of buffalo, leopards, and lions, along with a variety of antelope and abundant birdlife. The park is within traveling distance of one of the greatest natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls.

Activities offered on the Zambezi Queen include unique water-based game viewing, birding, tiger and bream fishing in season (catch and release), a cultural tour of a local village, and a photo safari.

The Zambezi Queen is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for a unique, luxury safari getaway.

"Booked an 11-day tour starting and finishing in Johannesburg and including Victoria Falls, Chobe and the Okavango Delta. The service from Cearl was very professional with numerous options discussed before settling on the final version. Prices seemed to be very reasonable."
