• Adults only, guests must be 16 years or older unless the camp is booked on exclusive use
• When Dithaba is booked exclusively, children of all ages are welcome

Location

Madikwe Safari Lodge lies within the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa's North West province, close to the Botswana border. Dithaba Camp is set high on a hillside above the reserve, positioned to capture uninterrupted sunrises, sunsets and long views across the bushveld.

Accommodation

Dithaba has four elevated hillside suites, each with its own private wooden deck and plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers, a deep bathtub, a wood-burning fireplace, king or twin beds, air conditioning, a stocked mini-bar and Wi-Fi. Interiors are quiet and understated, with lounges opening onto the bush and the mountain views beyond.

Shared spaces include a communal infinity pool positioned on the hillside, a fire deck, an open-plan lounge under thatch, and a main deck overlooking the valley. Guests may also use the Safari Spa, gym, signature pool and boutique at Lelapa and Kopano Camps, reached by a short scenic walk or vehicle transfer.

Activities

Guests enjoy two game drives daily with FGASA-accredited field guides in open safari vehicles, along with guided bush walks, stargazing and wildlife lectures. Bush breakfasts, picnic lunches and bush dinners are offered subject to availability. Madikwe is home to the Big Five and known for its wild dog and cheetah sightings.

Meals are beautifully presented and served in a mix of indoor and outdoor settings, from the central lounge to private deck dinners for two. The kitchen focuses on fresh, seasonal cooking with mindful portions and easy adaptation to dietary preferences, paired with a curated list of South African wines.
