The Details
Location
Maloba sits in the Northern Cape near Kimberley, reached by jeep transfer from Kimberley Airport. The reserve carries strong Kalahari character, with roan and sable antelope, oryx, mountain zebra, cheetah, white rhino and cape buffalo among the species on the property. Wildlife lists also include less-common sightings such as aardvark, aardwolf, black-footed cat and caracal.
Accommodation
There are two ways to stay. The Luxury Safari Suites at the lodge, including the Maloba Suites and the Diamond Suite, look out over uninterrupted bush and each have a private pool. The Diamond Suite includes a private 4x4 game viewer and a gym; the Maloba Suites include a gym.
The Luxury Farm and Gardens Villa is a separate retreat set within the working farm, orchards and vegetable gardens. It suits families or a small group booking together and comes with a private 4x4 game viewer, a private chef, a jacuzzi and sauna, and a gym on request.
Dining
Dining is farm-to-table, with much of the produce harvested on the reserve and worked into a contemporary menu by the kitchen team. Meals are intimate and unhurried. Stays of three nights or more include a bush dinner, and every itinerary includes a sunset drinks experience and a tour of the Farm and Gardens with lunch.
Activities
Two game drives run daily on private vehicles across the reserve. Beyond the standard drives, guests can add signature experiences including helicopter safaris over the wider landscape, rhino and cape buffalo darting alongside the conservation team, a visit to a working diamond mine, horseback riding, and time at the shooting range. Wellness treatments are available on request.
