Location

Mdluli Safari Lodge sits inside the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park, on ancestral land returned to the Mdluli Community through one of South Africa's most successful land-reform settlements. The lodge is a five-hour drive from Johannesburg and offers direct access to one of the most game-rich sectors of the park.

Every stay supports the Mdluli Community, with revenue channelled into conservation work and local upliftment. Guests describe the experience as one of genuine warmth, where the philosophy of leaving a positive footprint is woven into every interaction.

Rooms

Accommodation is in luxurious safari tents, each with an oversized patio and both indoor and outdoor showers. The tents are designed to keep guests connected to the bush while offering the comforts of a five-star retreat, with views opening out onto the surrounding Kruger landscape.

Dining

Dining at Mdluli moves between the main lodge restaurant, the open-air boma and bush-braai settings under the stars. The kitchen serves three meals a day, and small groups can book private experiences such as the signature gin tasting (minimum four guests) or a full bush braai (minimum ten guests).

Activities

Guided Big Five game drives run morning and afternoon in open safari vehicles, with experienced rangers tracking lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino across the southern Kruger. Guests who prefer to explore at their own pace can self-drive into the park in their own car and return to the lodge for meals.

Back at camp, the granite rock viewpoint, the infinity pool and the bar are favourite spots between drives. Bush walks, boma dinners and special events such as bush weddings and proposals can be arranged on request.
