The Details
The Camp
Out of Africa Legend takes its cue from the golden age of safari, the era of canvas tents, oil lamps, and long days spent watching the plains. The camp keeps that character throughout, with a main mess tent for dining, a lounge area for evenings, and a small number of guest tents spread through the bush for privacy.
Rooms
Guests sleep in traditional canvas safari tents raised on decks, each with an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda looking into the bush. The interiors carry the vintage-safari theme: wooden campaign furniture, brass fittings, and simple textiles rather than modern polish.
Dining
Meals lean on open-fire cooking and communal tables. Breakfasts and lunches tend to run informally around game-drive timings, and dinners are served together in the mess tent or outside around the fire when the weather is right.
Activities
Game drives on the reserve are the main draw, run in open safari vehicles with a guide. The pace is deliberately old-school: two drives a day, morning and late afternoon, with time in camp between.
