Partner programmes

Partner agreements.

Last updated 20 July 2026

One set of General Conditions applies to every Safari.com partner. Schedule A adds the terms specific to Travel Advisors; Schedule B adds the terms specific to Affiliates. Pick the schedule that applies to you.

General Conditions

1. The agreement

1.1. Parties and structure

This agreement is between Safari.com (hereinafter referred to as "the company") and each partner enrolled on one of its partner programmes. It consists of these General Conditions plus one schedule: Schedule A for Travel Advisors, Schedule B for Affiliates. The General Conditions apply to every partner; the partner's schedule adds the terms specific to their programme. If a schedule conflicts with these General Conditions, the schedule prevails for that programme.

1.2. Acceptance

The agreement is effective from the earliest of: the date the partner indicates acceptance in their partner dashboard, the date the advisor places their first enquiry, or the date the company issues the affiliate their affiliate code. Placing an enquiry as an advisor, or sharing or using an affiliate code, constitutes acceptance of these terms. The agreement applies to every enquiry or lead the partner places from its effective date.

2. Accounts

2.1. One account, one programme

A partner account belongs to one programme only. Every partner account carries an account code, which identifies the account in the company's systems and forms part of the partner's dashboard link. What differs between the programmes is attribution. A Travel Advisor account is governed by Schedule A, attributes by the advisor's registered email address, and reports to the advisor dashboard; an advisor's account code is an internal reference and dashboard credential only, and is not an affiliate code for the purposes of section 3. An Affiliate account is governed by Schedule B, attributes by its affiliate code, and reports to a separate affiliate dashboard. The two dashboards show different figures, because the two schedules calculate commission on different bases.

2.2. Operating in both modes

Where a partner genuinely operates in both modes, for example an agency that also publishes content on tracked links, the company will run two separate accounts: an advisor email registration under Schedule A and an affiliate code under Schedule B. Each account, and every enquiry, lead, or booking attributed to it, is governed by the schedule for that programme. A single booking is never attributed to more than one account.

3. Attribution

3.1. Codes are affiliate instruments

An explicit affiliate code is a Schedule B instrument. Where an enquiry carries one (for example a ?a= parameter on a safari.com link), the enquiry is attributed to that code under Schedule B, and this takes precedence over email attribution.

3.2. Advisor attribution is personal

Advisor attribution arises only where the advisor personally places the enquiry from their registered email address, as set out in Schedule A. An enquiry a client places themselves is never an advisor enquiry, with or without a code. A code never creates attribution under Schedule A.

3.3. No attribution, no commission

No commission is due under either schedule on a booking that is not attributed in accordance with these terms.

3.4. No self-referrals

No commission is payable under either schedule on a booking in which the partner, or a member of the partner's household or immediate family, is a traveller.

4. Payment

4.1. Calculated on received payments

Commission is calculated on the payments the client has actually made to the company, never on quotes or provisional holds.

4.2. Payable after travel

Commission is payable only after the client has completed their travel. At this stage, the company can confirm that no cancellations have occurred. Payment is made to the account the partner nominates in their dashboard.

5. Conduct, data & disclosure

5.1. Commercial disclosure

Where the partner promotes the company, or earns commission from an audience, the partner must clearly disclose the commercial relationship on the page or channel where the promotion appears, in line with the advertising and consumer-protection rules that apply to that audience, including, for United States audiences, the FTC's endorsement guidance.

5.2. Data protection

The partner warrants that they have the consent of each client or lead to share that person's personal data with the company for the purpose of quoting, booking, and delivering a trip, and the partner is responsible for complying with the privacy and data-protection laws that apply to their collection and sharing of that data. The company processes the data solely to deliver the booking and in accordance with its privacy policy.

6. Term & termination

6.1. Closing an account

Either party may close a partner account at any time on written notice. The company may suspend or close an account immediately where the partner breaches these terms, misrepresents their status or their relationship with a client, or acts in a way that harms clients or the company.

6.2. Effect of closure

Commission accrued on bookings made before closure remains payable under section 4. No commission arises on enquiries, leads, or repeat bookings placed after closure.

7. Changes to these terms

7.1. Amendments

The company may amend these terms at any time. The version published on this page, identified by the "Last updated" date above, is the version in force, and it governs every enquiry or lead the partner places after that date. It is the partner's responsibility to check this page. The company may, but is not obliged to, flag a change by email or in the partner's dashboard.

Changes to the commission rates in either schedule apply only to bookings confirmed after the change takes effect. They do not alter commission already accrued on existing bookings.

8. Governing law

These terms, and every partner account under them, are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

Schedule A

Travel Advisor terms

A1. Who this schedule covers

Travel trade partners, including travel agents, travel advisors, tour operators, DMCs, and agencies (in this schedule, "the advisor").

A2. Definitions

A2.1. Client

An individual, group, or organisation on whose behalf the advisor places an enquiry with the company. The client relationship belongs to the advisor at all times, as set out in A6.

A2.2. Land Value

The full booking value of the land arrangements on a booking: the lodges, camps, and experiences, in the booking's own currency. Flights, transfers, park and conservation fees, permits, and government levies are excluded from the Land Value.

A2.3. Advisor Commission

The monetary payment to the advisor for a booking attributed to them, calculated as their tier percentage (A5) of the Land Value, on payments actually received from the client.

A3. Attribution by email

Every enquiry sent from the advisor's registered email address is attributed to the advisor automatically. There is no sign-up form and no links to share: the advisor's first enquiry creates their partner account, and each subsequent enquiry from that email address is attributed from then on. The advisor must place each enquiry from their registered email address, and must keep that address current by notifying advisors@safari.com of any change.

On first enquiry the company may ask the advisor to confirm their agency or host agency and its trade accreditation, for example an IATA, IATAN, ARC, CLIA, TRUE, ABTA, ATOL, ATAS, or consortium membership number. The company may decline, or reclassify under Schedule B as an Affiliate, any account that is not a bona fide travel trade partner.

A4. The servicing model

Each enquiry the advisor places is handled as its own lead, so multiple client trips can run in parallel without merging. Our safari specialists liaise with the advisor only, never with the client, on sales, quoting, and the client relationship. Operational contact needed to deliver a booked trip, such as collecting traveller details, sending travel documents, and in-destination support while the client is travelling, is routed through the advisor unless the advisor approves direct contact for these purposes.

The advisor sits between the company and the client and services the client relationship throughout; that servicing role is what the Advisor Commission compensates. An account that passes clients to the company to deal with directly is not operating as an advisor, and the company may reclassify it, and its enquiries, under Schedule B as an Affiliate.

A5. Commission

A5.1. Commission table

The Advisor Commission is a percentage of the Land Value, determined by the advisor's tier.

Tier Commission Basis
Preferred partner 6% of Land Value
Premier partner 8% of Land Value

A5.2. Tier reviews

Every advisor starts as a Preferred partner. The Premier rate applies from the advisor's fourth booking, and the company will notify the advisor when the promotion applies. The rate shown in the advisor's dashboard is the rate that applies to their bookings.

A6. Client ownership

A6.1. Your clients remain yours

The company will not remarket to the advisor's clients. No newsletters, no retargeting, no direct solicitation. The advisor keeps the client relationship and every other part of the client's trip.

This restraint covers contact the company initiates. Where a client engages the company of their own accord, for example by subscribing to a newsletter, following the company's channels, or placing an enquiry directly, the company may communicate with them as it would with any member of the public, for as long as that engagement stands. Bookings the advisor continues to place and service remain commissioned as normal; bookings the client makes directly are treated under A6.2.

A6.2. Repeat business through the advisor

Repeat bookings the advisor places and services are commissioned as normal, whenever they occur while the advisor's account is open. This is the reverse of Schedule B: for Travel Advisors, the client relationship, and the commission that follows from it, stays with the advisor for as long as the advisor keeps doing the advising.

A booking the client makes directly with the company is not an advisor booking, and no commission is due on it. Where the company recognises a direct enquiry as coming from an advisor's existing client, it will, where practical, point the client back to their advisor before quoting. Recognition is best-effort: the company holds only the traveller details shared for past bookings, so it cannot be guaranteed, and a direct booking that proceeds carries no commission.

A7. Partner dashboard

Advisors have access to a live dashboard detailing their enquiries, bookings, the Land Value and commission per booking, and their current tier. The dashboard link is emailed when the partner account is created; the URL itself is the credential, so it should not be shared.

Schedule B

Affiliate terms

B1. Who this schedule covers

Private or public affiliates, including creators and publishers, who provide qualified leads to the company (in this schedule, "the affiliate").

B2. Definitions

B2.1. Referred Lead

An individual whom the affiliate has directed to the company or its website, through channels including, but not limited to, the affiliate's websites and social accounts, using one of the methods in B4; who provides their primary contact information, including, but not limited to, telephone number, email address, and budget; and who is actively engaged in planning an African safari.

B2.2. Gross Profit

The gross profit earned from a booking, calculated as the full sales amount paid by the client minus the costs associated with flights, accommodation, transfers, and all other expenses included in the client's itinerary. Only the costs of the client's actual itinerary are deducted: internal company costs, such as payment-processing fees, internal staff commission, and other overheads, do not influence the Gross Profit.

B2.3. Affiliate Fee

A one-time monetary payment to the affiliate as compensation for providing a qualified lead that resulted in actual revenue through a paid booking.

B3. Lead qualification

A referred lead qualifies for an affiliate fee only if the lead, along with their associated email address or contact number, does not exist in any of the company's databases. This ensures the referred lead represents a unique and new opportunity for the company.

B4. Onboarding & lead generation

Upon signing up, the affiliate receives an affiliate code (e.g., AB12) and a tier allocation as set out in B5. Leads can then be generated through the following methods:

i) Public link sharing: a link containing the affiliate code on the affiliate's website, YouTube channel, Instagram, or other public platforms.

ii) Direct client links: a link containing the affiliate code shared directly with the affiliate's clients.

iii) Email submissions: an email to helpmeplan@safari.com with the affiliate code in the subject line; the company will handle the lead registration.

Links can direct to any destination, package, or lodge on the company's website. Leads arriving through a shared link submit their own details in the company's enquiry form. When registering a lead by email, the affiliate must provide: first and last name of the primary contact, contact number for the primary contact, email address for the primary contact, the client's daily budget, and known interests related to the destination(s) the client wishes to visit.

B5. Commission

B5.1. Gross profit table

The Gross Profit generated by the affiliate is reviewed following sales to determine the applicable affiliate fee.

Tier Gross profit generated Referral commission
Silver affiliate $0 – $14,999 15%
Gold affiliate $15,000 – $29,999 17.5%
Platinum affiliate $30,000+ 22.5%

B5.2. Tier promotion

An affiliate becomes eligible for promotion to a higher tier upon reaching the thresholds in B5.1. Affiliates are eligible for up to two tier promotions based on their performance and Gross Profit generated.

B6. Initial booking only

The Affiliate Fee applies only to the initial booking derived from a referred lead. No fee is payable on repeat bookings or future purchases by that lead at any future date, nor on bookings from individuals, groups, or businesses the lead refers to the company.

B7. Affiliate dashboard

Affiliates have access to a live dashboard at safari.com/affiliates/<your code> detailing all clicks, leads, bookings, and the travel dates associated with those bookings. The dashboard updates in real time as records are touched in our CRM.
