The Details
Location
The camp sits elevated among trees in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, overlooking the Sand River where wildlife gathers during the Great Migration. Guests arrive via Mara Serena or Keekorok airstrip, roughly a one-hour flight from Nairobi Wilson, followed by a short game-drive transfer. The Kenya-Tanzania Border Stone, marking the junction of the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, is within reach.
The property is the Ritz-Carlton brand's first safari camp, designed in harmony with the surrounding wilderness and operated as an all-inclusive luxury retreat.
Accommodation
Twenty tented suites are built on raised platforms with private decks, heated plunge pools and sweeping views across the savannah. Each suite comes with a personal butler, known as an Encholiek, who handles everything from in-suite dining to tailoring the day's schedule. Signature suites offer larger layouts for families or guests wanting additional living space.
Dining
Nest is the main restaurant, serving dishes built around local ingredients across an expansive deck and a sky deck set up for stargazing dinners. A private wine cellar hosts tastings, and the Canopy bar lounge offers signature cocktails and fire-pit seating for sundowners. Out in the bush, expect picnic breakfasts mid-drive, bush breakfasts on selected days, and a Boma dinner with Maasai storytelling and dance around the fire.
Activities
Game drives run in private open Safari Land Cruisers with expert guides, supported by complimentary Canon cameras and guidance from the resident photographer at the Photo Studio. Guests can plan routes in the Map Room, join cocktail, mocktail or coffee masterclasses at Canopy, try beadmaking with Maasai Cultural Ambassadors, book a Kenyan cooking class, or visit a nearby Maasai village. The Wellness Hub includes an open-air heated pool, gym and studio, and the spa integrates native traditions into its treatments.
