The Details
The Lodge
RockFig has been positioned along the seasonal Ross River in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. The architecture and interiors carry a relaxed bush feel, with indoor and outdoor guest spaces that flow into one another so groups can gather or slip away for quieter moments.
Direct daily scheduled flights run from OR Tambo International Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport with Federal Air, landing at the lodge's private airstrip.
Rooms
Six chalet-style suites sit within the fenced camp, each finished for couples, families or groups taking the whole lodge on exclusive use. Suites are air-conditioned and spacious, with private outdoor space looking into the reserve.
Dining
The kitchen leans on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and works local game into the menu. Meals move around the property depending on the day, from a poolside lunch overlooking the waterhole (regularly visited by elephants) to dinners served under the stars.
Activities
Two daily game drives run with a professional guide and tracker, with a maximum of four guests per vehicle. Sightings regularly include the Big Five, along with wild dog, cheetah and Timbavati's white lions. Guided walking safaris give guests the chance to experience the reserve on foot.
Optional add-ons include rhino chipping, elephant collaring, helicopter flips over the Blyde River Canyon and microlight flights.

Stay & Pay
Stay four nights and pay for three, with the free night carrying the same inclusions as the paid nights. The offer applies to travel from 1 November to 19 December 2026, cannot be combined with any other special, and does not apply to children's rates. For single-room bookings the offer applies only when three rooms are booked; standard terms and conditions apply.
Honeymoon
Honeymooners receive 25 per cent off the couple's accommodation on a minimum three-night stay, for travel within six months of the wedding date. A copy of the wedding certificate is required for the offer to apply, and it may not be combined with any other special. Standard terms and conditions apply.
Family
Children under three sharing with one or two adults stay free of charge, and children from three to twelve sharing with one or two adults are accommodated at 50 per cent of the adult rate; from thirteen years, adult rates apply. A maximum of four children may share a room. Families of three or more travellers including at least one child aged two to twelve are allocated an exclusive-use game vehicle at no additional charge, with a second vehicle provided for parties of seven or more full-paying guests.
