The Details
Location
Sediba lies within the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in the Waterberg district of South Africa, part of the UNESCO-declared Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, which covers more than 1.6 million acres. The setting brings together mountains, mineral-rich soils, clean air and abundant water, supporting more than 50 mammal species and 300 bird species.
The reserve is malaria-free and within comfortable reach of Johannesburg, with direct light-aircraft flights also available. Rock Lodge and Mountain Lodge sit a ten-minute drive apart in prime positions within the reserve.
Rooms
The two lodges together offer 15 suites. Rock Lodge has ten suites, suiting couples, families, friends and solo travellers, while Mountain Lodge has five and works well for families, friends and small specialised groups. Suites are notably spacious, finished in warm interiors that echo the African setting, and each comes with a private jacuzzi.
Dining
Dining at Sediba blends traditional African flavours with international favourites, paired with handpicked South African wines. Settings move from starlit dinners and bush venues to private suite dining, with menus tailored to dietary preferences, celebrations and special diets.
Activities
Twice-daily game drives explore the Welgevonden Game Reserve in search of the Big Five and the wider cast of Waterberg wildlife, guided by experienced rangers. Back at the lodge, the spa and wellness centre offers treatments, a sauna and an equipped gym, with private jacuzzis in each suite for quiet downtime between drives.
