The Details

Location

Shongwe Oasis sits in the suburbs of Victoria Falls, roughly half a mile from the town centre and just over a mile from the Falls themselves. The lodge is designed for guests who want a quiet base within easy reach of the waterfall, the Zambezi River and the town.

Accommodation

The lodge has 19 rooms set amid tropical gardens and teak trees around a central infinity pool. Thirteen Deluxe Double rooms measure around 300 square feet with bath and shower, and three Deluxe Triple rooms are larger at around 430 square feet. Three Honeymoon Suites of about 300 square feet add outdoor bathrooms, an indoor bath and shower and a private garden. All rooms have king-sized, extra-length beds, air conditioning, fans over mosquito nets, his and hers vanities, verandah seating, room safes, tea and coffee facilities and complimentary wifi.

Activities

The signature feature is the neighbouring Shongwe Lookout tower, a two-platform structure with views of the mist rising off Victoria Falls, particularly at sunrise and sunset. On site, guests use the sit-in infinity pool, the outdoor jacuzzi and Oasis Spa, which offers deep-tissue and couples' massages alongside hair and beauty treatments. Victoria Falls activities including guided tours of the Falls, Zambezi cruises and adventure excursions can be booked through reception, and airport transfers can be arranged on request.

Dining

The open-air fine-dining restaurant is overseen by Chef Jason, whose menu leans on local ingredients used in traditional European dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner. A separate bar sits alongside the restaurant, and breakfast is included in the room rate.
