Tomo Safari Lodge sits inside the Balule Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger, part of the unfenced open system that flows into Kruger National Park. The Details
Location
Tomo Safari Lodge lies within the Balule Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger region, near Hoedspruit. Balule shares unfenced boundaries with Kruger National Park, which means wildlife moves freely between the reserve and the wider ecosystem. Guests look out across the winding Umhlametsi riverbed and the open spaces of the Leadwood and Cheetah plains, with the Drakensberg Mountains rising in the distance.
Accommodation
The lodge offers three chalet categories: superior chalets, honeymoon chalets and family chalets. All are set within the bushveld surrounded by marula, jackalberry and knobthorn trees. Rates are quoted per person per night on either a sharing or single basis.
Dining
Rates are fully inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner, with soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffee served throughout the day and on game drives. Non-house alcoholic beverages, including champagne, cognac, fine wines and premium spirits, are charged as extras.
Activities
Two game drives are included each day, taking guests out across Balule in search of the Big Five along with cheetah, wild dog, kudu, giraffe, hippo and a varied resident and migratory birdlife. Walking safaris are available for guests aged 16 and over, booked in advance, and excursions to Hoedspruit and local attractions can be arranged on request. Private vehicles can be booked at an additional R8,000 per day, including a dedicated guide and tracker, a personalised photo book and a private bush pancake breakfast.
