This short trip is tailored for those who are short of time or those looking for a great post-trip extension after a wildlife safari in Kenya, Tanzania or South Africa.
Enjoy deeply moving experiences when you come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This safari includes flights over the beautiful highlands of Uganda, boasting incredible rugged terrains and an opportunity to take a community walk and interact with the locals.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative, who will transfer you to a hotel in Entebbe. We have several optional activities around Entebbe that you can engage in, depending on your flight arrival time. These include a day trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, birding at the botanical gardens, and for keen birders, a visit to Mabamba Swamp to catch sight of the rare shoebill and plenty of other bird species is a must-see.
Enjoy an early breakfast and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Kisoro. The flight time is approximately one hour. On your arrival in Kisoro, you will be welcomed by an expert guide and head for your lodge. As an optional extra, indulge in a community walk around the park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a recently proclaimed World Heritage site, is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth. Its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population, and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for a morning briefing from the rangers before you enter the gorilla sanctuary. Throughout the trek, you will be accompanied by experienced guides and trackers who will offer insightful information about the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour observing them from a 10-meter distance. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek.
Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming, and resting, while the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. After tracking, transfer back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, depart Bwindi for Kisoro Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe International Airport.
Please note that all itineraries can be tailored to meet your specific needs. We can easily adjust the length of your stay or include additional destinations upon request.

Super star Mel
Mel our booking agent has been absolutely fantastic. Nothing has been too much trouble for her no matter what time of day & how big or small our enquiry has been. She was brilliant when having to relocate us from Kruger due to the flooding, it was seamless from our end.

Booking through Safari.com
Your travel consultant, Mel de Toit was excellent. She was prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful. The only confusing thing was the 2% merchant charge. It actually turned out to be a charge of close to 4% even when using ZAR currency as instructed when booking.
