Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge. Child rates apply.

Two adults and two children can share a Family Suite, or alternatively, a maximum of 8 people can stay in the River House Villa.

Children under 5 years old are not permitted on safari activities unless a private vehicle is booked at an additional fee.

Children over the age of 6 years are permitted on safari activities and river cruises at the discretion of the lodge manager.

Childminding services are available but must be pre-booked.

The Detail

Matetsi River Lodge boasts 18 beautifully appointed suites that offer guests privacy and spectacular views of the Zambezi River.

Each Suite is contemporary in design, featuring natural tones and abstract artwork. They offer twin beds that can be converted into doubles, en-suite bathrooms with a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, mosquito netting, indoor lounge areas, in-room safes, minibars, and private verandahs complete with comfortable couches and plunge pools.

The lodge includes two Family Suites featuring two en-suite bedrooms connected by a passageway.

The Matetsi River House is an exclusive-use villa that accommodates families and groups of up to 8 people in four bedrooms.

With three exclusive guest areas, the facilities at Matetsi include a boma, fitness center, safari shop, wine cellar, massage sala, swimming pool, conference center, and various dining areas.

The conservancy surrounding Matetsi River Lodge is home to an abundance of wildlife, including large herds of elephants and buffalo, a variety of antelopes, hippos, lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, and 366 bird species.

Activities offered at the lodge include game drives, walking safaris, birdwatching, canoeing, boating excursions, and fishing. Excursions to Victoria Falls can also be easily arranged by the lodge.

Price Includes

Accommodation, three meals daily, the house selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities (including game drives, birdwatching, a cruise on the Zambezi River, amateur fishing, and canoeing), as well as emergency medical evacuation insurance.
