Children up to five years of age stay complimentary, while children aged six to thirteen are accommodated at a 50 per cent reduction on accommodation, pre-booked meals and activities. Inter-leading family rooms take two adults and two children, or four adults, each with its own bathroom. Children under ten years are not permitted on the scheduled guided group tours.

Children are welcomed at the lodge for direct stays. The "no children under 10" restriction applies only to the scheduled group tours that feature Damara Mopane Lodge (the 10 Days Namibian Highlights Tour and 7 Days Northern Namibian Adventure Tour), not to independent lodge bookings. Family-friendly configurations are available via 5 sets of inter-leading twin bungalows plus 1 set of wheelchair-friendly inter-leading twins. Shuttle transfer conditions: children under 13 may not travel alone and must be accompanied by an adult over 18; all children must occupy their own seat (car seats available on request).

Damara Living Museum
A visit to the Damara Living Museum, included as a structured excursion on the day guests stay at Damara Mopane Lodge. This living museum showcases traditional Damara culture, practices, and heritage in an immersive, hands-on setting.
Scheduled as a day excursion from Damara Mopane Lodge, combined with visits to Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, Organ Pipes, and Burnt Mountain. Guided by a local English-speaking tour guide. Included as part of the tour package.

"Very helpful with itinerary and excellent arrangements of transport from and to Cape Town, and Idubi in Sabi Sands and Lukimbi in Kruger. Although a rep for Safari.com said a letter from a doctor was not required, such a letter IS REQUIRED to go on bush walks if older than 65. Fortunately, we checked the reserve web site and had a doctor's letter."
