The Details
Location
DumaTau lies in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in far northern Botswana, at the heart of the unfenced Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. The camp is set between the Linyanti River floodplain and the Savuti Channel, on a stretch of waterfront favoured by elephants moving along ancient migratory routes.
The lush, water-rich environment supports one of Africa's largest elephant populations, along with buffalo herds and a healthy density of predators including lion and African wild dog.
Accommodation
Eight ultra-spacious tented suites are raised on wooden walkways only steps from where wildlife passes peacefully through camp. Each suite has a private plunge pool and interiors finished in hand-crafted mosaic tile, acacia wood and locally sourced textiles that reflect the character of the Linyanti. Family suites are available for guests travelling with children.
Dining
Meals are served in a variety of settings, from the Osprey Lagoon Deli, where chefs prepare seasonal, locally sourced menus and fresh smoothies and juices, to al fresco dining on the barge and sundowners overlooking the Linyanti lagoon. Evenings often end around the floating fire pit to the sound of hippos and owls.
Spa
The Osprey Retreat spa offers treatments overlooking the bush, and the camp also has a gym for guests who prefer to keep up their exercise routine. A sparkling pool looks out over the water.
Activities
Game viewing is exceptional on both land and water. Twice-daily game drives search out lion, wild dog and elephant, while boat cruises on the Kwando River, barge trips on the Linyanti and catch-and-release fishing open up the waterways. Birding is a highlight, and helicopter safaris over the Linyanti and Okavango can be arranged.

A closer look.
"I cannot recommend Anja Meyer at Safari.com enough. This is our 3rd trip in 2 years that we have planned with Anja and we cannot imagine using any other travel planner. As travelers who deliberately seek experiences that go beyond the expected, and a bit of luxury that feels authentic, every single trip that we have booked with Anya has been a complex, multi country itinerary- we are definitely not easy to plan for. What sets Anja apart from other travel planners (and we have used several planners from top agencies) is her ability to partner with us and truly understand our preferences, pace and unspoken/ unwritten requirements. We would be remiss if we didn't mention her work ethic - she is incredibly responsive despite major time differences (I don't think she sleeps :) ). The results are always extraordinary journeys that feel very tailored to us. This most recent trip planned with Anja will take us across Namibia, Botswana and Mauritius - we can't wait!!"
