Accommodation at Elephant Plains is provided in a series of Rondavels, each featuring air conditioning, coffee-making facilities, en-suite bathrooms, mosquito netting, and sundecks.
There are also several Luxury Suites, which include air conditioning, fireplaces, minibars, overhead fans, safes, tea and coffee-making stations, and mosquito netting for added comfort.
Elephant Plains offers two daily guided safari drives—one in the morning and another at dusk. These outings are coordinated by highly trained teams of experienced game rangers and local Shangaan trackers. Additionally, daytime guided bush walks allow guests to get up close to the wildlife. During these walks, guests can engage with their trackers and learn about local flora, bird habitats, and the area's history.
A unique highlight for guests is the lodge's skywatching excursions. Far removed from the heavy city lights that often obscure the stars, these trips offer an awe-inspiring view of the night sky. Guides, trained in astronomy, provide fascinating insights during these informative evening outings.
The lodge’s facilities include a curio shop, swimming pool, laundry services, internet connectivity, babysitting services, coffee-making stations, a library, health spa amenities, and a private wine cellar.

Child rates
Child rate for children under 12 — approximately 50% of the single adult rate (e.g. R3,525. R4,500. R5,100 per night; across 2025–2027).
Notable exceptions
- No children under 3 years of age are permitted at the lodge or on game drives. Bush walks are strictly for guests aged 17 and over; for younger children, a ranger or tracker can be arranged to lead a "mini bush walk" inside the camp. A private game-drive vehicle can be rented on request at extra cost for families wanting exclusive use. Child-minding/babysitting can be arranged on request and is charged per hour, for the guest's own account.
