The Details

Location

Insika sits on Parkway Drive in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, next door to the national park and a short drive from the falls themselves. The lodge name comes from the isi-Ndebele word for Pillar of Strength, a nod to the towering column of mist that rises from the falls and can be seen from over 30 miles away.

Accommodation

The lodge has 40 rooms split between two categories. Fourteen Signature Rooms measure 452 sq ft and look onto either the water hole or the garden, with private verandahs, ensuite bathrooms featuring a bath and double rainfall shower, and a closed toilet cubicle. Twenty-six Luxury Rooms measure 301 sq ft with garden views, ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower, and seven sets of inter-leading configurations for families. All rooms can be set as king or twin and include air conditioning, fan, mosquito net, tea and coffee, minibar, safe and hair dryer.

Dining

The chef-led kitchen uses locally grown and organic ingredients across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests eat on the expansive decks, in the bar deli overlooking the woodland, or beside the firepit. The reception lounge and welcoming areas open onto landscaped gardens and a swimming pool.

Activities

The in-house Zambezi Vista sunset and sunrise cruises run two and a half hours on a 52 ft solar-equipped vessel with twin Yamaha 4-stroke engines. Sunset departures shift seasonally, 4:15pm from September to April and 3:45pm from May to August, with return transfers included from within 3 miles of town. The lodge also operates a regular shuttle to Victoria Falls town and the falls themselves.

The on-site spa and sauna sits within the lodge gardens and offers massages, body wraps, facials, manicures and pedicures delivered by local therapists.
