About the lodge
An overview of Jack's Camp.
Jack’s Camp is located in the heart of Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. The Makgadikgadi Pans are unlike anywhere else on this earth with their spectacular vistas, specialized guiding, interactions with habituated meerkats, unique desert wildlife, and authentic safari accommodation.
Highlights
- Jack’s Camp recently reopened after an extensive refurbishment and is considered one of the best camps in Botswana.
- Beautiful Hemingway-style tented camp.
- The camp is situated in the path of the second-largest migration of zebra and wildebeest in Africa.
You Should Know
- Jack's Camp accepts children of all ages.
- There is no family tent at Jack's Camp, so parents with younger children must share a tent with each child (one parent and one child per tent).
The Detail
Jack's Camp boasts three double and seven twin-bedded tents, each offering an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a pedestal fan, a sitting area, a writing desk, and a private outdoor veranda with spectacular views of the salt plains.
The camp facilities include a pool table, an indoor dining area, an open-air lounge, a library, a bar, a swimming pool, and a complimentary laundry service.
During the wet (green) season, the Kalahari transforms as flamingos and other migratory birds decorate the watery grasslands. Herds of zebra and wildebeest appear, drawn by the lush grass, and for several months, the desert is teeming with game and predators. Experience the spectacular migration of zebra and wildebeest – the second-largest in Africa, and the last remaining in Southern Africa.
Activities offered at the camp include game drives and bush walks led by a small group of Zu/’hoasi Bushmen, interactions with a group of habituated meerkats, horseback riding trips to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, quad biking during the dry season, and visits to the historic Fallen Baobab.
Jack's Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for a unique safari experience.
