"Beautiful setting, well kept gardens around a small but welcome pool. Beautiful bedroom. Very helpful staff. Very convenient for shops but in the gardens or room could have been miles away form town but just a fifty yard walk away. Brilliant - very enjoyable. Couldn't have wanted anything more. Stayed here for five nights - would definitely recommend."

"My husband and I spent two wonderful nights in this beautiful hotel in Franschhoek. There are so many positives about this place - the spacious rooms, the attention to detail, but I think what stands out most is the incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. We tried the tasting menu at the restaurant. And, whilst not everything was to our English palate, it was an incredible experience. Again, the staff were wonderful with a wealth of knowledge about both the food and the wine pairings – they were also very entertaining, with a great sense of humour. We would highly recommend it. We’d also recommend Kalfi’s, which is just across the road from the hotel. We had a fun evening in there with great and very reasonably priced food."

"On the main street in Franschhoek a fantastic hotel you are made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in. we stayed in an upstairs room overlooking the pool. Everything you need is thought of, with a buffet breakfast followed by a freshly cooked selection to order."

"LQF has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in! The rooms are spacious and my bathroom had a lovely big bathtub, and windows which overlooked the courtyard and pool area. I loved the bean bags and little baskets around the pool with lotion and sunscreen for you to use - and the staff even left me a Goodnight note in my bathroom - very cute! Attention to detail like that makes this hotel even more special. The breakfast is small but the quality of the food is exceptional! The staff are very lovely and make sure you have everything you need, even offering you drinks when you lay by the pool. Complimentary coffee, drinks and bottle of wine are provided in the room as well. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Franschhoek and doing wine tours to stay here - conveniently located in town, you just walk through the gate and you're on the main street! Shame I only got to stay here one night, but thank you LQF for making my stay amazing :)"

"What a wonderful place to stay... we didn't want to leave. We had been upgraded to a suite and had our own private patio/garden area with pool. The floors in the bedroom and bath had underfloor heating. The bedroom and living room were spacious and very comfortable. If location, location, location is all important, their location couldn't be better. They are within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants and if you want to go further, they offer a shuttle, plus the wine tram station is nearby. Even though they are right near the main street, you feel as if you are staying in a beautiful garden and it is very quiet and peaceful. You can't do better than to go to this lovely boutique hotel."

"The location of the hotel is great, as nearly everything is in walking distance. From the front office staff including Michelle to the breakfast ladies and the housekeeping, everybody was just perfect. Not sure what else I should write, just go and experience yourself this great luxury boutique hotel. For sure you have to have one night the dinner experience at the tasting room."

"We spent two very special nights at lovely Le Quartier Francais. We felt like we had our own little cottage that was stylish yet very comfortable. Right outside of our bedroom was our own private pool and patio which we thoroughly enjoyed. Gorgeous views from our bedroom and the bathroom of the mountains. The hotel is located right in the center of town but feels like you are worlds away. The staff was so helpful and made us feel so welcome. Their recommendations were excellent and we would go back and stay at Le Quartier Francais again. Make sure you book in advance at the Tasting Room Restaurant which was the best restaurant we ever ate in. Amazing food and service. One of the best restaurants in the world. It is part of the hotel and wish we had ate there both nights."

"We spent two nights and were delighted with our room which had a working fireplace and was always prepared to be lit. the furnishings were attractive and the hostesses lovely. Although it faced on to the main street of the town the rooms are on the quiet side of the hotel."
- Eileen
"We love staying here. Located right in the wonderful town you can enjoy all the local shops and restaurants. It's totally safe. The hotel service is outstanding. Even a hot water bottle in your bed when you come back! I highly recommend it. The fine dining we enjoyed on one night. Outstanding"

"What can I say. Everything about this place oozes charm. For starters, the hotel staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The place is absolutely charming –– just like one's image of a cottage hotel in the French wine country. Although it feels like being in the country, the main entrance actually faces the main street of the small and utterly charming wine country town of Franschhoek, about an hour out of Cape Town. If you come here, you certainly already know that this is the historic center of the South African wine region. The entire area is highly reminiscent of Napa Valley in California, but with the great advantages of being much less crowded, much less touristy, and much less expensive. This was our first night's stay upon arrival after a 36 (!!) hour trip from San Francisco via Dubai (layover only) and all we really wanted to do was rest. But the hotel, and the area, are so charming that we actually had a wonderful afternoon and evening. Our room was perfection: giant king size bed, great bathroom, great (free) WiFi, and more conveniences than we knew what to do with. There are also two restaurants on site, both top rated in the area. Highest possible recommendation."
