The Details
As Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park, Tarangire National Park is an off-the-beaten-path gem with stunning landscapes, including vast savannahs, verdant hills, and iconic baobab trees. Known for its large elephant herds, incredible birdlife, and scenic beauty, Tarangire offers a true sense of wilderness.
Lemala Mpingo Ridge serves as a perfect gateway for a standalone safari or a combined experience with other Lemala properties in Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.

Game Drives
Explore Tanzania’s Northern Circuit with expert Lemala guides in custom-designed 4x4 vehicles. These open safari vehicles are positioned in prime wildlife areas and equipped with modern amenities such as fridges and charging ports. Game drives can be shared or upgraded to private vehicles, subject to availability.
Expect sightings of elephants, lions, and other iconic wildlife as you traverse Tarangire and the Serengeti. Night drives are also available, providing a rare opportunity to witness nocturnal activity.

Child rates
A child is 5–15 yrs in Tanzania. 1st child sharing with 1–2 adults same room is FOC on FB/GP (single room rate applies if sharing with only 1 adult). 2nd/3rd child sharing pays 50% of FB/GP rate. Child in own room must be 14+ and pays single adult FB/GP rate; additional 1st child sharing FOC, 2nd child sharing 50% off. Children 4 yrs and under not recommended.
Notable exceptions
- Lemala does not recommend children 4 years and under at any Lemala property in Tanzania — this is a recommendation rather than a strict minimum age, so younger children can technically be accommodated. Interconnecting 2-bedroom suites/tents are available at Mpingo Ridge: standard suites max 2 adults + 2 children or 3 adults; 2-bedroom units max 4 adults + 2 children. Bed config includes 1 superking/twin + sofa bed (suitable up to 16 yrs) + camp safari bed (suitable up to 12 yrs). Max 2 kids sharing with 2 adults, or 3 kids with 1 adult. Lemala Cubs kids' programme caters to under-12s. Rates charged based on children's ages at time of travel — if older than previously quoted, additional fees (accommodation, park, camping, concession) charged on arrival. Note: the 16-yr minimum at Lemala Wildwaters (Uganda) does NOT apply at Mpingo Ridge.
