The Safari Lodge offers accommodation for 24 guests in 11 suites, each with a private plunge pool and a separate lounge area. The suites feature mosquito-net-draped beds, chilled sparkling wine, and a luxurious double bath. This lodge is a cherished haven for honeymooners and romantic souls.
Dining
Savor cuisine that excites the palate and offers a true taste of African culture, hosted by attentive local staff. All meals are enjoyed in the Main Lodge and are included in your stay.
Activities
Game Drives
A morning game drive into nearby Addo Elephant National Park, known for having the highest density of African Elephants in the world, is included. Now with Big 5 status, a visit to the park makes for an exciting morning. Two additional morning drives are offered within the Reserve.
Big 5 Wilderness Walks
Walking trails with a Professional Trails Guide and a Specialist Birding Guide allow guests to follow elephant and rhino trails across the ancient landscape. Walkers might track and view these giants while discovering countless small creatures and their tracks.
Horse Trails
Amakhala Horse Trails accommodate small groups of up to six intermediate to experienced riders. Experienced younger riders aged 10 to 15 are welcome if accompanied by a guardian. Horseback safaris last two to three hours, offering plenty of time for wildlife viewing and refreshment breaks.

Age policies vary by lodge across the Amakhala Game Reserve: Bukela & Bush Lodge 12+; HillsNek 9+; Safari Lodge 9+; Woodbury Lodge 6+; Woodbury Tented Camp 6+; Induli Lodge 6+ (under 6 by arrangement); Quatermain's Camp 12+ (all ages on exclusive use); Hlosi all ages welcome via the Cubs on Safari Children's Programme; Leeuwenbosch all ages; Woodbury Manor all ages (exclusive-use lodge, up to 4 pax). Luxury Family Safari Tent and Luxury Two Bedroom Suite at Hlosi require a minimum of 3 persons sharing. Children 5 and under may join game drives only if the lodge's policy permits, or when the lodge is booked for exclusive use. Private game vehicles can be booked at Hlosi and Leeuwenbosch (subject to availability and additional cost); Bukela, Bush Lodge, HillsNek and Safari also offer private vehicles on request at additional cost, enabling younger children on drives.
