The Detail
Camp Xakanaxa boasts twelve spacious Meru-style Luxury Safari Tents that are positioned on the edge of the lagoon. Each tent features twin beds that can be converted into a double, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and luxury bathroom amenities, overhead fan, in-room safe, tea and coffee making facilities, flashlight, umbrella, air horn, hairdryer, and a private viewing deck complete with comfortable loungers.
The camp facilities include a reception area, various indoor and outdoor dining areas, a campfire area, swimming pool, bar, curio shop, and an expansive viewing deck that overlooks the lagoons and islands.
Surrounded by riverine forests, savannah, seasonal floodplains, and meandering channels, the camp makes for the perfect safari destination. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve led by professional guides, motorized boat safaris, and bird watching.
The Moremi Game Reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the famous Big Five and the rare and endangered wild dog. Animals frequently seen on safari include elephants, buffalo, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe, lions, and leopards. Birdwatching is spectacular, particularly in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding. With over 400 bird species recorded in the delta, the reserve is a birdwatcher's paradise.
Camp Xakanaxa is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for an authentic tented safari experience.
