Child Policy

The lodge welcomes children who are 4 years old and older.

Access from the Closest Commercial Flight

Option 1: Daily scheduled charters to Chem Chem private airstrip with Coastal Aviation, Auric Air, plus a 10-minute game drive to Chem Chem Lodge, and 40 minutes to Little Chem Chem and Forest Chem Chem.

Option 2: A 2.5 to 3.5-hour drive from Arusha. Transfer arrangements can be made at an extra cost.

Each of the eight opulent tented suites is positioned at a minimum distance of 80 meters apart, ensuring privacy and sweeping views of the magnificent lake. 7 Luxury Tented Suites

The seven spacious tent-style suites offer ultra-luxurious accommodations beneath the vast African sky. Using natural textures and materials such as wood, canvas, cotton, and lava rock, these suites seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment.

1 Family Tent

The family tent consists of two separate tented bedroom suites. It includes a full suite linked by a small wooden bridge to a vintage-style tented room (50 m²) equipped with an indoor shower. This setup can accommodate up to three children and two adults. One tent features the main bedroom area, while the annex tent, connected by the wooden bridge, contains two single beds for children.

Lakeside Sundowners

Relax on the tranquil shores of Lake Manyara with a drink in hand after the day’s excitement of exploring the bush. Gather your thoughts as you watch the sunset, see the first stars appear, and observe the birds returning home to roost.

Bush Breakfast

Wake up with the birds and set out for an invigorating morning walk. Hear the bush come alive as the sun warms the earth and its furred and feathered creatures. Afterwards, settle down at the foot of a 3,000-year-old baobab and enjoy a well-earned full English breakfast.

Walk or Run with the Maasai

Discover the wilderness through the eyes of those who have lived in harmony with it for centuries: the Maasai. A warrior will accompany you along with a field guide for a rare opportunity to learn how this local population has survived by coexisting with wild animals for hundreds of years.
