We celebrated our good friend's 50th birthday (cheers Per Gunnar!) by going on a safari trip to Chitwa Chitwa, and arrived in the afternoon of May 1st. We were welcomed by Leon at the airstrip and immediately met a road block in the form of a Rhino! And the Wild life experience just continued during our stay. What a magnificent place and hospitable management and staff! Claudia and Leon are the perfect hosts, and to make our game drives a memory for life we got Surprise as ranger and Howard as tracker. They are the best team in their job, no doubt. Being 6 people in our group we got our own Land Rover, and each of us got the best possible view from the car. And what a view! We saw the big seven, and many more. We even got to witness a lion kill an Impala, and heard the sound of it eating the poor thing. Awesome! The food on Chitwa Chitwa is gourmet style and very good, and Dinho (the sommelier) gave excellent advice regarding wines.

Just returned from a trip to ZA having stayed 3 nights at Chitwa Chitwa. We have stayed at several game lodges before and our expectations were high but Chitwa Chitwa surpassed everything. The best game viewing we have experienced, the lodge is wonderful and the staff couldn't be better. I also managed to leave my jacket on the jeep before catching the flight home and the team at Chitwa are arranging to have it shipped back....superb. Highly recommended.

This is the ideal honeymoon (or any other luxury holiday) location. The suites are beautifully designed by one of the owners, are pure luxury and have private decks with plunge pools. The staff could not do more for you, will know you all by name and make you feel like friends (it is only a small Lodge with 10 suites). The safari is awesome and the Guides/Trackers are excellent and very knowledgeable. The food is out of this world and everything at the Lodge is reasonably priced. This is by far the best and is well worth a visit. It was our honeymoon and first safari and we couldn't have asked for a better start to married life!

We had a wonderful four days in Chitwa. The manager Kevin and his wife Melanie were very kind and caring and nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation was fabulous, with our room was spacious and very well situated. Our driver Surprise and tracker Ralph made our drives very funny and most interesting and the stops for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening were so welcoming and enjoyable. The food was wonderful and the evenings under the stars were truly a tremendous South African experience. We loved every minute of our stay in Chitwa and would recommend it to anyone wanting a special safari adventure.

This is a lodge with a artistic flair. The staff are nice and Chantal and Stephan run a nice lodge. The animals when we were there were plentiful. The room was lovely. The deck is painted black so it does get hot, so wear your sandals if by the pool. The wifi could be better but you are in the bush, so it's ok if you don't have it for a few days. There was one area in lobby where reception was good, using Imac wifi.

Chitwa Chitwa is the stuff dreams are made of. The accommodation is picture perfect and you are made to feel part of the Chitwa family immediately. Kevin and Melanie make you feel welcome and immediately at home and are the perfect hosts - knowledgeable, friendly and great fun. The villas are set in the most idyllic location and so perfect for our honeymoon venue. Enjoying an outdoor shower to the noise of hippos in the nearby lake HAS to be experienced. The game drives are fantastic with Harley and Moses our driver/tracker combo having amazing skills at finding the animals before anyone else and getting you as close as you can be without causing distress to the magnificent creatures. Their knowledge of the area is second to none and I learned so much from them during our time there. This place did something no other place did to me - it moved me to tears when I had to leave. Highly recommended and very much missed already. Thank you Chitwa Chitwa team for making a childhood dream come true!

My husband and I were here celebrating our wedding anniversary and what a truly remarkable experience! They made it so incredibly romantic for us and we also had the best game viewing experience. We saw everything we wanted to see, the big 5 plus more and our guide Surprise was amazing. Leo and Claudia made sure our stay was nothing less than perfection! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

We had a perfect vacation at Chitwa. Our hosts - Kevin, Melanie, Chantel and Stephan were spectacular. The food, the accommodations, the game drives were all well beyond our expectations (which I would describe as very high!) We can only hope that we get the opportunity to visit this amazing place again. Thank you!

After much research to find the right game lodge for our holiday, we selected Chitwa Chitwa. I am speechless to describe our experience adequately. As a world traveler, I have never experienced anything quite like this. Leon and Claudia ensured the very best customer service available. Their attention to every detail and the personalisation of the service left us in awe!Hali and Moses were our Ranger and Tracker. Their skill to find animals was amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable and most of all we felt safe with them. Many times we were face to face with some very dangerous animals, we even went for a bush walk with Hali, and at no time did I feel our safety was jeopardized.I rarely go back to a place that I've visited simply because I want to see and experience different adventures; however, this is one that we will do again. Thank you Leon, Claudia and team for the most memorable holiday we have ever had.

Amazing game resort in the middle of the wild life! You sleep listening to cricket and frogs, and wake up with the hippos! beautiful facilities, great design and decoration, very kind and nice crew! Special stars to our ranger Neil, deep knowledge about the wild life and a great person!

Unorgettable trip in South Africa
We have spent 12 days as a family in South Africa with my 3 children and my wife who is in a wheelchair. Thanks to Pascal, Safari.com consultant, we were able to spend an unforgettable moment with a great program while being well accompanied despite our constraints. I recommand particularly the "Monwana game lodge" for a safari in Hoedspruit. It's an amazing place with very nice people and a real family atmosphere. Thank you to the entire Safari.com team for this unforgettable trip.

Superior service, knowledgeable, transparent, amazing can-do attitude
These guys get 10/10. I have booked with them a few times. To Kruger National Park, including both public and private(concession) camps, flights and car hire. Their senior agent, Dolan is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail, transparency, and 'can-do' attitude are out of the ordinary. I recently came into contact with Tanya at safari.com as well. It looks like all their agents are similarly well trained. Thank you. I cannot recommend Dolan and his team highly enough.

Cape Town miracle
I was in Cape Town, South Africa recently for an athletic competition and had allowed myself a week of personal time to relax and properly conclude the trip, but had not bothered to plan a safari to occupy the time. I was skeptical of the cost and whether I would enjoy the experience, however a couple days into that final week it occurred to me, in a bit of a panic attack, what a waste it would be not to take advantage of this opportunity. I hopped online and started looking at flights to Johannesburg (almost all the safaris in SA start there with an early morning pick up), but it was basically impossible to get a flight early enough and/or to coordinate with the multiple safaris operating in or just outside of Kruger. With no apparent options available to turn my remaining 4 1/2 days into even a 3 day safari I stumbled on the most obvious website one could imagine, Safari.com. I'd completely given up negotiating all the variables on my own but here was a safari travel agent that might be able to help me .. and they were based right out of Cape Town, literally a stones throw from my lodgings. Serendipity, or so i hoped. I immediately sent out an email and crossed my fingers .. for roughly an hour and a half, at which point Dolan from Safari.com responded to me requesting I give him a call so that we could expedite potential arrangements. My in country phone plan wasn't able to make calls, but we arranged for him to call me and not 3 hours after being in the grip of despair Dolan got through to me and far from notifying me of how absurd it was to hold out hope for a literally, last minute safari adventure with barely 4 days available to me, he had already worked out all the details I'd sent and created a preliminary safari trip that would bypass Johannesburg airport for a flight the next morning to a closer, much, much smaller airport where I would be picked up taken, not to a 3 day safari, but a full 4 day safari, then back to the tiny, tiny airport for a return flight to Cape Town with 2 hours to spare for my return leg all the way home. It almost feels like an afterthought, after the minor miracle Dolan was able to conjure up, but the safari itself at Simbavati Lodge was just an absolutely stunning experience. The single "tent" he booked me was as luxurious as any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, the game drives, one every morning, one every evening were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and the food, 3 meals a day with snacks and an open bar was sublime. I could go on about the wonderful staff, or the wonderful other safari goers you can meet and grab a drink with, or the different animals walking through the open lodge facilities daily .. but I've gone on long enough. I'll simply conclude by saying .. safari, absolutely, yes, do it, it is amazing. And when you do decide, Safari.com will do you right and if you have the pleasure of working with Dolan, do give him my thanks .. the entire experience was the best part of my trip :)

A great company
What to say! We planned a South African Safari for 2020 with Safari.com. We researched companies and took a chance on one we had never heard of before. Henry Franklin was our agent, we gave him our budget and wish list. He came up with a wonderful looking trip and we made our choices! Then came Covid, preventing us from going. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Henry rebooked everything for the next year. He kept us updated on how things looked there. When in 2021, we decided it still looked iffy, he rebooked us a second time for 2022. We couldn’t have been happier with the service we had in a rough time for all. We had a wonderful experience on our trip when we finally got to go!! Henry had everything so well organized and gave us a detailed list of what transfer companies would be meeting us and when. When Airlink bumped us and put us on standby returning from Victoria Falls, we called the concierge number Henry had given us and Catherine worked hard on this and got us back on our flight. The Safari.com team had our back and we have no regrets. Would definitely use them again. Our lodging was wonderful, saw the big 5 within first 2 drives. Henry definitely knew the territory and did a great job matching what we wanted with where he suggested we go and stay. Thanks Safari.com, Henry and Catherine!
