Child Policy

The Riverside Chalets are not suitable for children under 10 years old unless the lodge is reserved on an exclusive-use basis. Children aged 10-12 years pay 50% when sharing with two adults in a Riverside Chalet. Teens aged 13 years and above pay 80% when sharing with two adults in a Riverside Chalet. Persons 18 years and older are considered adults and will therefore require their own chalet at the applicable rates.

Chundu Cottage is a family-friendly option for families with young children. Children aged 5-12 years pay 50% when sharing with four adults at Chundu Cottage. Children under 5 years stay on a complimentary basis.

Notable exceptions

  • Due to proximity of the Zambezi River, the standard Riverside Chalets are not suitable for children below age 10. Only the Jacana Family Riverside Chalet accepts children, and only ages 10โ€“16 (up to 2 children sharing with parents). Children under 10 โ€” including all ages from 0 โ€” can be accommodated exclusively at Chundu Cottage, a private family-friendly cottage (max 6 guests) with private pool (optional safety gate), private dining and fully equipped kitchen; a minimum charge of 4 adults applies. For the Chobe Day Trip excursion (Botswana), children 3โ€“12 pay half price and a private trip is required for younger children on game activities; this is not stated as a requirement for in-house Chundukwa activities.

A guided walking safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in search of Zambia's rare and endangered White Rhinos. Guests learn about local flora and fauna while tracking rhino and other game on foot.
