The exclusive-use Kamara House is the newest luxury safari accommodation in the Thornybush Nature Reserve and is part of Game Lodge’s refurbishment. A private house overlooking a small riverbed, it’s perfect for multigenerational families or small groups.
From the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of by our friendly staff and your dedicated butler, so you can spend the day relaxing on sun loungers with your book or watch passing wildlife from the rim-flow plunge pool. Close to Game Lodge, you can stroll across to the Spa for a wellness massage or pre-lunch drinks on the main deck.
Meals are prepared by your personal chef and served alfresco-style outside or in the spacious dining area. Each dish is created using the freshest ingredients with little to beat the smell of home-baked bread wafting through the house as you arrive back from your morning game drive.
The interiors at Kamara House are a contemporary mix of organic textures and tones that echo its bush setting. The villa-style house has two en-suite beds rooms, and the third room is interleading to the main bedroom which provides a shower only. After dinner, sit around the table chatting about the day’s sightings or stargaze from your deck as the lions roar in the distance. Kamara House has a dedicated game drive vehicle, guide, and tracker.

Mel de Toit is definitely worthy of FIVE stars. She has helped us put together a trip of a lifetime. Our first safari is at Simbavati and the second is at Chief's Camp, in the Okavanga Delta. In addition she has arranged flights to various destinations and a wonderful stay with various side trips in Cape Town. We can't wait to start our journey and know that thanks to Mel, it will be the trip of a lifetime!

Keith - best travel agent in the world
Keith is such an amazing communicator, very organised and helpful. This will be my first ever visit to the Kruger national park. As a fellow South African I never had the chance to visit the Kruger NP. Keith sent us voice recordings and I cried listening to his accent and hearing the beautiful nature in the background bringing back so many fond memories of our beautiful country. These messages were so special! I can’t wait to visit and am really looking forward to the most magical experience.
